Moira, had. organised the girl's and the two men, they had shared their. tasks and everyone knew what they should do; meanwhile Moira was walking to the Chief's house led by a girl, who looked like 14 year's old, and as Moira asked the kid her name, she said her name was Anna and her mother was the. chief's daughter, oh so. the chief is your grand father?, Moira asked "yes" then the kid pointed to a thatched house, there, that is my grand papa's house, oh exclaimedb Moira, I saw him coming out of a house today near the place we came ashore, Oh yes that's my uncle's house, his first born son, oh, I see said Moira, and she liked. the child, she talks openly, to her not like. the kid's in the village, when she tried to converse with them, they ran away of shyness.
The chief's house was strewn with many different flower's and you can just. smell the sweet smelling fragrance of their nectar,
the walk way up to the house was bordered also by beautiful coloured leave's and flower's, the child was first at the open door of the chief's house, and stood calling "grand papa grand papa", here's your guest, the. chief stood there beckonig Moira inside, Moira went in and sat on a chair beside. the table, and and the chief sat on his couch, then came his wife, with a. tray of cup's. and sugar in a container, and small packet's of tea, coffee, and a small saucer of milk. Putting the tray on the table, she turned to Maera and extend's her hand's and said, oh my. name is Harriet, and mine is. Maera, Oh come and make your own cuppa tea, you would know. how big your sugar will be and what you like tea, or coffee, so Moira got up and made her cup of tea; when she sitting with her cup of tea, the chief spoke; I tried to catch your Host Mr.Ramond yesterday afternoon but it seem's he had gone home earlier, but I needed to rush here urgently. After hearing rumour's from some member's of the
neighbouring village of Marando, that their chief Lakso and his men were here looking for me with. aggresive reaction'while I was in Sandry,on hearing this, I rushed back here worried, that my village people would scared and panicking.
This was caused by. an incident last week; there was a dispute between our village, and Lakso's village, it. is called Marandos, and it happened when my first cousin who was asked by head master of the Sandry island school, to cut some timber's to extend the school, and since the tree's were so close to our village here, that he thought it belonged to the Tomba's tribe, so he and some boys cut down nearly one hundred trees and as news got Lakso the marandos tibal chief, they ran all the way to the felling area, but my cousin, Fasti Lumba, was not there at that moment, and they demanded to come tonight and take Fasti to face punishment, but. I know they will kill him and like his boy's in the bush, they were all seriously injured and have been taken to the city to be hospitalized.
I went to Lakso, and made him see reason and to charge us an amount of money to pay for their trees; but he just has too many pride in his heart and he has spoken that tonight he will come for Fasti, but there is a problem, cos early this morning Fasti. and his family, had dissapeared, from the village, nobody knows where they have gone and he has added more trouble now for the village.
