CHAPTER 4: SARAH
Sarah snuggled against Nick’s chest, struggling to stay awake. This little time they had left was precious and she didn’t want to waste one moment sleeping.
“I was thinking.” His hand ran up and down her back.
“Hmm.” Her fingers skimmed over his chest, trying to memorize the feel of him for later.
“We should talk to Ethan and extend our time together.”
“What?” Her hand froze.
“I want more time with you.”
She pulled away. She wanted that too, but she couldn’t have it. Lisa had already made plans for her last two Saturdays before deployment. She sat up, covering herself with the sheet. “I’d like the two more weeks too, but I can’t. I’m sorry.”
“Not just two weeks. I want another contract. A longer one.” He took her hand and kissed her palm.
