It was difficult to separate his amazement about getting into college from the knowledge that it never would have happened without her. He tried to visualize himself on campus alone, taking the virtual tour again and again. The toughest thing was not being able to call and tell her. No one else would be as excited for him. He let himself travel down the “what if” boulevard, and knew that she would have sent him a “congratulations” package full of things to make him happy, probably complete with a UD sweatshirt to match hers. That line of thought was not helping him accomplish his goal, however, so he had to cut it off.
