Courtney reached for her phone to shut off the alarm, wondering for a brief moment why it was going off. Her heart sank as reality snuck up on her, and she remembered she was leaving for home-if that term even applied anymore. It was early, a little after five. Vanessa was planning on taking her to the airport in just under an hour, so she knew it was time to get ready to go.
