The city was alive and pulsing with energy it’s neon lights reflecting off the wet pavement like a canvas of diamonds. The sounds of laughter and music drifted through the air, mingling with the hum of traffic.
It was a typical Friday night in downtown Manhattan, and Emily Mayfield was right in the midst of it. With her best friend, Sarah, by her side, they navigated the crowded streets, searching for the perfect nightclub to spend the evening.
As they turned a corner, Emily collided with a tall handsome stranger. Apologetic, she looked up to meet his piercing blue eyes.
“Oh, I’m so sorry!” Emily exclaimed, her cheeks flushing.
The stranger smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. “ No harm done,” he replied his deep voice sending a shiver down Emily’s spine.
As they exchanged apologies, Emily couldn’t help but notice the stranger’s chiselled features and broad shoulders. He was effortlessly handsome, with an air of confidence that drew her in.
“Hey, are you Okay?” Sarah asked tugging Emily arm.
Emily nodded, still locked in the stranger’s gaze. “Yeah, I’m fine.”
The stranger smiled again and turn to leave. “Have a great night,” he called over his shoulder.
As Emily watched him disappear into the crowd, she felt an inexplicable sense of loss. It was as if she’d had has just missed an opportunity, one that might never come again.
“Who was that?” Sarah asked raising an eyebrow.
Emily shook her head. “ I have no idea”
But as they continued their night, Emily couldn’t shake the feeling that her life was about to change in ways she never could have imagined.
