"Sit down," he said.
I sat. The room was quiet now, just the two of us and the morning light coming through the tall windows and whatever he had decided to say before things became officially professional.
He didn't sit. He stood at the window the way he stood at windows, hands in his pockets, looking at something outside briefly before he turned back.
