I wiped both palms heavily across my face before tossing my phone onto the table.
Michelle had just called to break the news: Kathryn knew about my affair. The only saving grace was that I had cleared my old chat history. If I hadn't, she would have realized that the "other woman" destroying our marriage was her own best friend. Why the hell hadn't I hidden that second phone better? Unbelievable bad luck.
It all made sense now—her cold behavior this morning, pushing me away, refusing to meet my eyes, and rushing out of the house at the c***k of dawn. I had assumed she was just upset about our argument before I left last night. Turns out, she had caught onto me.
