Aria looked up at him. “You’re doing that again.” Kael frowned slightly. “Doing what?” “Standing there and making the air feel weird.” He laughed quietly. “I don’t think that’s me.” She crossed her arms. “Then it’s the moon.” “Probably.” But neither of them stepped away. Aria studied his face for a moment. “You said earlier that was your first move.” Kael raised an eyebrow. “Did I?” She nodded. “So what’s the second one?” He hesitated just long enough to make her curious. Then he reached out and gently took her hand. The moment their skin touched… Silver energy sparked softly around their fingers. Both of them froze. Aria stared down at the glowing light where their hands met. “Okay… that’s new.” Kael didn’t let go. “No kidding.” The magic slowly faded again. But the warmth between them remained. Aria looked up at him. “So… was that planned?” Kael smiled slightly. “Not exactly.” She smirked. “Well…” She squeezed his hand lightly. “…I guess the moon approves.” He laughed quietly. “Seems like it.” Outside the temple the wind moved softly across the mountain peaks. Far away in the dark forests below… Vargan’s army continued to grow. But inside the ancient temple of the MoonBorn… The bond between Aria and Kael was growing just as quickly.
