Vargan’s red eyes locked onto her. “You are something the world hasn’t seen in centuries.” “Yeah, everyone keeps saying that.” “The Moonborn,” he continued, “were created to control wolves.” Aria frowned. “That’s the rumor.” Vargan smiled wider. “It’s more than a rumor.” He gestured toward the wolves behind him. “Prove it.” Aria blinked. “What?” “Command them.” The pack shifted uneasily. Kael tensed. “Don’t.” But something inside Aria stirred again. That same warmth. Only now it felt… bigger. Like a tide rising under her skin. She looked at the wolves. Thirty glowing eyes stared back. Predators. Killers. And yet— They felt strangely… familiar. Aria lifted her hand without thinking. “Stop.” The word wasn’t loud. But it carried. Silver light burst from her chest again, spreading like moonlight across the ground. The wolves froze. Every single one. Not a paw moved. Not a growl. Nothing. Kael’s eyes widened. “Aria…” She hadn’t meant to do that. But the power inside her kept building. The wolves were no longer just animals in front of her. She could feel them. Every heartbeat. Every breath. Every instinct. It was like standing in the center of a web made of living minds. Her voice came out softer now. “Sit.” Thirty wolves immediately lowered themselves to the ground. Kael stared.
