Aria gasped as the energy exploded outward.
A shockwave of silver light ripped across the clearing.
Every wolf—including Kael—was forced to their knees.
Except one.
Vargan.
The Alpha grinned like he had just confirmed something important.
“There it is.”
Aria stared at her glowing hands.
“What… did I just do?”
Kael struggled back to his feet, shaken.
“You just awakened the full power of the Moonborn.”
Vargan’s voice dropped to a low whisper.
“And now the real hunt begins.”
Aria looked up sharply.
“Hunt?”
Vargan turned toward the forest.
“You have power now.”
He glanced back at her over his shoulder.
“Which means every Alpha in the world will want you.”
Aria felt the silver energy still pulsing in her chest.
“Want me for what?”
Vargan’s grin widened.
“To control.”
He stepped into the darkness of the forest.
“And I plan to be the first.”
The wolves behind him slowly rose and followed.
Within seconds—
The forest was silent again.
Kael looked at Aria.
“Well,” he said.
“That complicates things.”
Aria stared at her glowing hands.
“How many Alphas are there?”
Kael grimaced.
“…more than you’d like.”
The moon hung high above them.
And deep in the woods—
More wolves were already starting to howl.
