On the day of the planned rescue, I woke feeling nervous. How I pray, nothing goes wrong. I showered and dressed and went downstairs to breakfast. Most everyone was already up and eating except my mother.
“Where’s mom?” I asked as Amiya set a plate down in front of me.
“She is on a call with Joanita.” My dad said as he took a bite of his breakfast.
“You don’t think she suspects anything?” I asked frowning and setting my cup down after taking a sip of my coffee.
“No, it didn’t seem that way, and your mother is playing it cool.”
Xipher asked, “Are you ready for tonight?” I looked up at him, and I could tell he sensed my nervousness. “We will do another practice training if it will help ease your mind.”
I nodded, “I would feel better about it.”
“Feel better about what?” My mother ask
