My mother led me to a room with a big screen on a wall. “Sit here,” she said as she indicated a seat facing the screen. I watched my mother walk to the back of the room and pick something up from a table then walked back and sat next to me. She clicked a button on the device that looked like a remote, and the lights dimmed.
“I feel like at a movie theater,” I said smiling. “Where’s the popcorn?” I laughed as I sat anxiously.
My mother smiled back and did something on the device when on the screen, I saw a man all smiles and holding a toddler.
I stood up and walked closer, then turned facing my mom. “Daddy?” I asked her and saw her nod. I turned back to the screen and stood there watching my dad as he played with me on his knee.
“One day my sweet girl, you will rule your own kingdom.” H
