Chapter four

he next morning Denelle had already packed her things in a duffel bag, she didn’t pack much because she didn’t own much. Alpha Luca had sent two of his guards to moonlight pack to bring Alpha Frederick’s daughter to him. Denelle wasn’t surprised when she didn’t see anyone coming to bid her goodbye, she thought that maybe her sister would maybe come outside to taunt her or father would back orders at her but none of them was in sight.

“Is this all you have miss?”

One of the guards asked her politely, her mouth felt heavy so she just resulted to nodding her head. They walked towards the borders of moonlight pack as inquisitive eyes of the pack members could not just stop staring at them. When they got to the border they stopped walking and the guards stops to converse within themselves and then they turned to her.

“The journey from here is still far off and we need to get to the lunari pack before nighttime. We have to change into our wolf form for the journey to be faster”

She stared at the men as if they were talking gibberish, she thought that maybe since her father had given her up he must have told them that she still yet to meet her wolf meaning she could not change yet. She scratched her neck, thinking of a way to tell them that she couldn’t change into her wolf form yet.

“Miss, is there a problem?”

The guard who had spoken to her politely earlier asked.

“I can’t change into my wolf form yet”

The two guards stared at themselves, amused at the revelation.

“How old are you?”

The other guard asks

“Twenty”

The other one who had earlier informed her that they’d need to change into their wolf form then spoke up.

“We will change and then you can just ride on one of our backs”

Denelle nods her head frantically but then she remembers that they are going to be naked when they change back

“What about your clothes?”

“Well since you’re going to be riding on one of us you could just pack our clothes into your duffel bag”

The journey to the lunari pack was faster than she thought, they got there in less than an hour and the guards handed her over to the head worker who was going to take her to meet the alpha.

“I am Lisa the head servant”

“I am Denelle”

Lisa nods her head taking in the young girl’s appearance, she felt sorry for her but there was nothing she could do other than be nice to the girl. Alpha Luca had specifically ask that the new girl be his personal maid and everyone knows that nobody lasts working with the alpha, but the young girl’s case is different because she was not from here and she looked fragile too so working in the farms would not even be ideal. They stopped in front of a door and then Lisa turns to her smiling.

“This is your room, everything you need is in there but if you need anything else come to me”

Lisa gives her a pat on the shoulder as she turns to walk away. Denelle opens the door to reveal a well furnished room, she didn’t think that she would have a separate room from the rest of the other servants but according to the maid it was one of the pecks of being the personal maid of the alpha as she would need to stay on the same floor as him to work more efficiently and be more accessible to the alpha, that was what Lisa told her.

Denelle drops her duffel bag at the side of the bed, she wanted to lie on the bed but she felt like taking a walk before the alpha would request for her presence. She spotted a garden on her way so she thought about going there to take some fresh air. Locating the garden wasn’t hard at all but she got worried when she noticed how the other workers were staring at are like she had two heads.

“On your first day and you are already breaking rules”

She opens her mouth to speak but then she sees Lisa running to her

“I am so sorry my lord, I didn’t think she would come down here so I forgot to tell her that this place is off limits”

Lisa drags her out of the garden even before she could render her own apology.

“Why were you at the garden, I told you that if you needed something that you come to me”

Denelle felt sorry for Lisa, she didn’t want anyone to be in trouble because of her.

“I saw the garden on my way and I didn’t think it was just for the alpha since it was in the open. I’m very sorry”

Lisa sighed

“One of the things you should know is that the alpha has his private areas and the garden is one of those areas”

“I am sorry”

“Don’t be, there is still a lot of things you need to learn plus the alpha didn’t seem like he was angry”
