The Sharman

The next morning, Damien called for Reagan

He was going through some emails when he heard a knock at the door

"Come in"

It was Reagan. Dressed sharply in blue sleeve shirt and black pants just as a beta should.

Being his best friend and beta, Reagan already knew about Damien's dreams as he would confide in him whenever he had such dreams.

"Good morning alpha " Reagan said sitting across damien.

"Good morning Reagan, how did you sleep?" Damien asked

"I slept alright but it seems like you didn't get a shut eye last night could it be you had that dream again?"

"Yes, but this time its different" damien said with a thoughtful expression

"Okay. Go on then what changed?" Reagan asked

"She wasn't running away this time, she walked towards me, stood in front of me and said something but I couldn't hear and also she transformed into a different person when she got close to me. The woman I have seen all these years is totally different from whom I saw last night but it felt like she was the same person. I am so confused right now these dreams must be connected somehow. I think I should involve the Sharman in this." Damien said leaning back into the chair

"Wow, this is strange. Having the same dream twice is alright but this? This is something else. I did ask you to consult the Sharman about this but you refused. What made you change your mind now" Reagan said a bit irritated at his stubborn friend. If he had just listened to him he wouldn't be so worked up right now.

"You know why Reagan, you know why I refused."

"We were kids Damien and that was a long time ago, we should have past this already."

Damien looked at Reagan with an solemn expression as he reminisced on the events that took place years ago.

Damien was just a toddler when he was crowned next in line, it was a rule in the werewolf clan that the successor must be crowned at the age of 5 to prevent certain debate or rivalry from others hoping to take the throne for themselves.

This rule applied to the Sharman as well. When the current Sharman's son Caleb came of age he was made the successor too to take after his father when he is gone.

Damien, Reagan and Caleb grew up to be close friends like the three musketeers always found together and inseparable at that time. Their parents also were close and this formed a bond among the families.

On a fateful day the boys sneaked out without their personal guards to attend a parade in the neighbouring town.

"Did you see how easily we deceived those guards?" Damien said with excitement

"We should do this more often" Reagan said and they all laughed

"What are we waiting for? Let's go have fun. We have to be back before our parents arrive from the moonlight pack." Caleb said and ran towards a gaming cart by the side of the road while Damien and Reagan joined in.

They had a lot of fun until it was time to go home. It was late already and Damien knew they would be in trouble by the time they got home. So Damien insisted they take a short cut.

"Wait, don't tell me you want us to pass through the scorn valley rumoured to be full of wild animals? If that's your plan then count me out." Reagan said and Caleb agreed

"Don't act like chickens. what are you? 5? Come on we would be quick and it's the only option we have right now. Besides if you guys won't go then I would go alone." Damien said and walked away.

Reagan and Caleb didn't want their friend to go alone so they tagged along still scared for their lives.

It was getting dark and they still haven't gotten to their destination. They had been walking for a while now the so called shortcut didn't seem short anymore.

Suddenly they heard a growl and the three of the stopped to observe.

"What is that?" Caleb asked fear evident in his eyes.

"Please I don't want to die today" Reagan said in panic

"Shut up you two, it might be our imagination or something, let us keep moving" damien said still keenly observing his surroundings.

As they were leaving, they heard it again and this time it jumped out and headed straight for them, a beast like none they have seen.

"Run run runnn" Damien screamed.

But the beast was faster.

"Ahhhhh Damien help. Ahhhh let me go you bastard. Ahhhhh help" Caleb screamed
