WILLOW'S POV My boots clicked softly against the tiled floor as I followed the nurse down the hall of the hospital. Every step echoed in my ears. “Is she awake?” I asked quietly. The nurse nodded. “Yes, Delta. She’s stable now. She lost a lot of blood, but she’s healing well.” I exhaled slowly. My chest loosened a little for the first time since the forest. When the nurse stopped by the third door on the left and opened it, the smell of antiseptic and medicine drifted out.
