WILLOW'S POV. The first thing I felt was the ray of sunlight against my face. I woke up slowly, like my mind was trying to climb out of thick mud. My body felt heavy, weak, sore in places I didn’t even remember using. For a moment I didn’t know where I was. All I could smell was clean sheets, the faint forest drifting in through the window, and then— Atlas. My eyes fluttered open just as he turned to leave the room. And that was when I saw it. Not him. Not Atlas. But the same thing I saw last night—the shadow that seemed to be a part of him. It stood in his place like it had always belonged there.
