ATLAS' POV. I didn't know how long I stood there, minutes, maybe hours. The gym was quiet now. Selene had long left, but her words were still hanging in the air. “The Delta from Shadow Moon… interesting choice.” I leaned back against the punching bag, still feeling the heat from my workout, but it wasn’t my muscles I was thinking about. It was Selene — that expression, her tone. There had been something in it I hadn’t expected. I rubbed the back of my neck, trying to shake the image from my mind, but it kept returning. Why had she laughed like that? Why had her smile disappeared so suddenly? Was it anger? Possessiveness? Something else? My wolf stirred in the back of my mind, nudging me toward awareness.
