"What do you got geek?" I ask leaning between Ryhes and Holland to look at the computer monitors in front of him.
I can see his head turn to face me from the corner of my eye, "Don't you have something better to do?"
"Nope," I pop the P at the end just to annoy him.
"Careful how you talk to her now, she's your future Luna." Ryhes says still looking at the computer.
I punch his shoulder, "Don't do that."
"What the hell Summer." He growls at me, amber now present in his baby blues.
"Don't make them treat me differently Ryhes."
"Don't hit me."
"Don't piss me off."
Holland snorts and I glare at him, "Got something to say cat?"
Now the feline has jade swirling in his golden eyes and I know somewhere I should probably be afraid but I'm not. We know how to get on each others nerves, it's been our thing.
"The plates lead back to a home located just outside the mountains. One Mr. and Mrs. Carlos Vega, both of which are eighty years old and not moving around much these days."
"How do you know?" Ryhes asks leaning back in his computer chair.
"Mr. Vega is on dialysis and the Missus is bound to a wheel chair when she fell down the stairs a few months ago and broke both hips."
Holland clicks his mouse a few times and two pictures appear side by side.
"Jesus poor lady," I mutter studying the screen.
"So what does this mean?" Ryhes as looking over at us.
Holland shrugs, "No idea, it makes no sense."
I hang my head and shake it, "Have neither of you ever seen a single movie or T.V. show about criminals."
They both lean back and cross their arms, "We don't really have much down time Summer."
I roll my eyes, "Everyone has down time."
"We don't all use the little time we have sitting on the couch and watching T.V."
"Don't judge me."
Now Ryhes rolls his eyes, but I can see the smile he's fighting. "Just tell us what you've learning from all those movies."
"I'm gonna hit you again."
"Summer."
"Usually when the detectives find out the plates belong to someone that doesn't make sense they realize that the plates have been stolen. It just doesn't make sense."
"What do you mean?"
"Have you searched the cameras near by? Not just ours but also the cities?"
"That's illegal." Holland says sitting forward now.
I snort, "And when has that ever stopped any of you from figuring out what you need to? The city knows about us and we're always allowed access to the cameras, they just take longer to get us the approval. Maddie is missing, I think this is an emergency worth going behind their backs."
"This should have been done already Holland." Ryhes growls and when I look over I can see that he has no handle on his temper.
"I think you need to leave Ryhes," I say turning my body so I block his view of Holland.
"You don't get to tell me what to do."
"I do when it's for someone else's safety."
"I'm still your Alpha Summer, I don't take orders from you."
I can hear Holland's intake of breath but I don't turn to him, "I'm going to ignore that because I know you're pissed off right now. You need to shut your mouth before you say something you'll regret more then what you just said to me. Holland is going to search the cameras for the SUV and I am going to head back to my place."
I stand straight and Ryhes follows, "I'll go with."
"You need to stay here and get your s**t together."
"You're not going out by yourself."
I take what I hope to be a deep cleansing breath. It doesn't really do s**t, so I take another.
"I'll call Sammy."
"Summer stop."
My feet halt on their way to the stairs and I loose all calmness I was able to muster.
I spin on Ryhes and point my finger in his face, "Don't you ever use your Alpha command on me again. I am not apart of your pack yet and you don't get to treat me like one of them. You want an equal partnership then act like it asshole."
Ryhes steps back.
"You need to learn to control your temper and you also need to learn how to treat people because I refuse to be talked to or treated like that. If you ever pull something like that again, I will leave and I will not come back. I don't f*****g care if I'm your Mate or not."
I spin back around and stomp my way to the stares, "This is exactly why I run."
I don't bother waiting for a response. I close the door behind me and lean back against it before pulling out my phone to text my brother.
His answer hits back and a few seconds later he meets me at the front door.
"Why are we heading back to your place?"
"Originally it was to get some more clothes."
"And now?"
"I just needed to get away from Ryhes."
Sam grabs my shoulder to make me stop, "You're not running again are you?"
I shake my head, "No."
I start walking again, "Not yet anyway."
