It didn't make sense at all. The more I pondered it, the less sense it all seemed to make. I made every effort to search my mind for anybody who could have seen us together. It was inconceivable for someone to have linked the two of us because I had hardly even gone to the Manor. Except if he was attempting to avoid having another s****l encounter with me, which I didn't mind, but I would have appreciated the candor.
