Best friend 😌

1087 Words
As I entered the room, I was greeted by the sight of my new roommate, Lily, sitting cross-legged on her bed, engrossed in a book. Her long, dark hair cascaded over her shoulders, and a pair of wire-rimmed glasses perched on her nose. She looked up as I entered, a friendly smile lighting up her face. "Hey there," she said, marking her place in the book and setting it aside. "You must be my new roommate. I'm Lily." I returned her smile, feeling a sense of relief wash over me. "Yeah, that's me. I'm Sophia Greene," I replied, stepping further into the room. Lily gestured to the empty bed opposite hers. "Well, make yourself at home. I saved you some space in the closet and on the shelves." I nodded, grateful for her kindness. "Thanks. I'll try not to take up too much room." Lily chuckled, a warm, melodic sound. "Don't worry about it. We'll make it work." As I began unpacking my belongings, I couldn't help but feel a sense of curiosity about my new roommate. Lily seemed friendly and easygoing, and I found myself looking forward to getting to know her better. Over the coming days and weeks, we fell into a comfortable rhythm, sharing stories and swapping advice late into the night. Lily introduced me to her favorite study spots on campus and the best places to grab a late-night snack. In turn, I shared my love of photography and my dream of traveling the world. Despite our differences, we quickly discovered that we had much in common. We both loved classic literature, indie music, and late-night movie marathons. And while our personalities were distinct—Lily was outgoing and spontaneous, while I was more reserved and introspective—we complemented each other in ways I hadn't expected. As the semester wore on, our bond only grew stronger, forged in the shared experiences of dorm life and the challenges of university coursework. And as I lay in bed each night, listening to the sound of Lily's soft breathing across the room, I couldn't help but feel grateful for the unexpected friendship that had blossomed between us. Wake up, lily said. I sighed knowing there's no escaping the inevitable. I'm up I said swinging my legs over the bed and forcing myself to stand. why are you still sleeping by this time of the day, do you want to be late for class Lily said. immediately she said those words to me, all of the suddenly I became active and I felt my senses were back, because I know the implications of going late to class especially when it's Monday. I hurriedly did my morning routine, arranged my clothes and got prepared. I wasn't looking that good enough because I was in a haste. I felt uncomfortable, but anyways I need to be in class on time. With a smile on my face i said "hey, gotta run! See you later!" I called out as I hurriedly slung my backpack over my shoulder, my keys jingling in my hand. My roommate looked up from her book, a puzzled expression crossing her face. "Already? It's barely past dawn." "Yeah, I know, early class," I explained, already halfway out the door. "Catch you later!" With a quick wave, I dashed out of the room, the echo of my footsteps fading down the hallway as I raced against the ticking clock to make it to my morning lecture on time. Successfully I made it on time, as I wait for the lecturer. Waiting on the arrival of the lecturer, I could sense something around me in the class. I could see a lot of my class mates interacting, negotiating and having fun with themselves. While I'm here doing nothing, I was just on my own I had no friends, for the past few weeks in the university, I haven't made friends even to negotiate with them was difficult. I'm quite a shy person, an introvert to be precise. I was quite tensed, unhappy a lot of emotions was just on me that I couldn't even describe at that moment it was annoying. With a voice in my head i said "I wish I can make friends even if it is one, I wish I can overcome my shyness. later on, comes the arrival of the lecturer. "As the lecturer droned on about the intricacies of quantum mechanics, I couldn't help but notice a girl seated a few rows ahead, her gaze fixed on me. Despite my attempts to focus on the lesson, her unwavering stare felt like a magnet pulling me into an unknown realm of curiosity and intrigue." You could describe the scene like this in your novel: "After the class ended, the room cleared out, leaving me alone with my thoughts. Suddenly, a figure approached, breaking the silence. It was the girl who had been staring at me during the lecture. With a shy smile, she extended her hand and introduced herself. Hi, my name is Elizabeth, she said, her voice soft yet confident. You must be Sophia Greene right? she said. With a confused look, I replied, yes I'm. Her eyes sparkled with intelligence and kindness, and her genuine interest in conversation was evident as she asked about my thoughts on the lecture material. As we talked, the world around us seemed to fade away, leaving only the two of us in our own little bubble of connection. Little did I know, this chance encounter would mark the beginning of a remarkable journey filled with unexpected twists and turns." "As the days turned into weeks and then months, Elizabeth became not just a friend, but my confidante, my partner in crime, and ultimately, my best friend. We shared everything – laughter, tears, and the quiet moments in between. Our connection deepened with each passing day, woven together by shared experiences and a mutual understanding that transcended words. From late-night study sessions to spontaneous adventures exploring the city, Elizabeth was always there, a constant presence in my life. We laughed until our stomachs hurt and leaned on each other during moments of doubt and uncertainty. Our bond grew stronger with every shared secret and inside joke, solidifying our friendship as something truly special. As we navigated the ups and downs of life together, it became clear that Elizabeth wasn't just a friend – she was family. Our hearts beat in rhythm, synced by the unbreakable bond of friendship that would withstand the test of time."
