Landon POV

I tried to catch up with Ajak after leaving my dad's office to apologize for accusing him and to see if we could bury the hatchet, so to speak, but when I was looking around the packhouse he was gone. So I just waited for him to come back so we could talk...

It's 1130 at night and Ajak still hasn't shown up and he's been blocking me on the mindlink. I'm really starting to take this s**t personal because what the f**k is really keeping him away this long? It's been 5 hours since he's been gone. Nobody seems to know where he is and now I can't even find my father. Something has really got to give.

I wiped my face with my hands in frustration and just decided that I was just gonna go for a run, I ain't got anything better to do anyway. Plus, I might spot Ajak somewhere along the way and still need to talk to him..

Lance and I are running around, it's so quiet out tonight and it feels so freeing. I don't know what it is, but something about tonight just feels right. I was sitting in wolf form on the cliff on the far east side of our land just looking out over our pack when the wind shifted. Moments later, this delectable scent just hit us. It's the same exact mouth watering scent that I smelt the first day coming home, only this time it was stronger. like I could almost taste that deliciousness of strawberries and cream with coconut on the tip of my tongue and before I could get out of my trance, Lance was already following the smell.

We ran 20 minutes all the way to the west side of the pack and I was behind some bushes about to come up to the lit-up waterfall that most pack members don't even know about, since it's hidden behind a small entrance. I did not realize how much I had grown because I almost didn't make it through. But the smell is stronger here than anywhere else.

Damn, someone baking a cake outside? What is that? Lance is so antsy.. he wants to take the reins over but, I stop him. I want to investigate this myself. He definitely couldn't fit in the entrance, which is why he had to transform back into me in the first place and now he is feeling quite salty.

I find some shorts in the bush and tug them on and my mouth is just salivating at this point. I moved out into the clearing in front of the waterfall and NO!!! I can't believe what I am seeing.. I'm shocked, I'm angry. My mouth drops and I can't seem to speak.

There stood the most enticing and perfect soul right in front of me in a bikini. Her black and silver hair dripping with water, soft-looking, delectable honey-creamed skin tone, beautifully plumped lips. She is a little bit short but makes up for it with her juicy curved, lightly toned body. Everything about her screams perfection. Except......

Lance and I are in shock and raging with a type of anger that I've never felt before. I'm trying to find words but I can't until i see Ajak grabbing her around her waist, pulling her closer to him.... Lance raging in my head, screaming MATE MATE MATE!!!! NO MINEEEEE! KILL HIM NOW!!! HE SHALL NOT TOUCH WHAT IS MINE!

Finally, I'm knocked out of my trance and screamed "WHAT THE f**k!!!!

Alpha Andrew POV

I'm seething at this point. My son and his soon-to-be beta are really fighting about women? How can I trust them with my pack if this is the kind of bullshit I run into? Not to mention that my son is talking about taking a chosen who I have heard nothing good about. I feel as if I went wrong somewhere with him about not explaining the importance of having a fated mate at your side.

Landon was about to explain some idiotic reason when a phone call saved me from listening, so I answered instead of ignoring it like I usually would. Alpha Andrew, speaking, I say trying to calm down. I immediately regretted that decision...

Alpha Andrew, a low menacing voice, comes through the line. That little stunt you pulled with the king may have set me back a couple of months, but don't worry. I will be coming for my queen. I seemed to have met some new allies who are ready to exact their revenge on that hideous mutt that calls himself king.

Great! The king and I, along with all of our men, will gladly be waiting for you to cross into OUR country.

Listen you blind mutt, I am still an alpha and have gained even more warriors than before, so you will do right to respect me and just hand her over before I murder your entire pack!!

You no longer have that title, so you will not get any respect from me, Dalton!! I say trying not to let him get under my skin.

Be ready for your execution! I say with enthusiasm. I can never be scared of this conniving prick and, to add to that warning, I say We'll be waiting for you! Then I hung up before he could say another word. I tried not to say too much in front of Landon, thus risking breaking the contract.

I was about to dismiss the boys myself until Ajak beat me to it. I knew that he knew exactly what that was about even though nobody but me could hear that conversation. He seems to have gotten quite close to Lariyah, so much so that she came to me asking if we could add him to the contract so she could tell him her secret.

They left without any more issues and I immediately called the king to let him be aware of the conversation that had just transpired. Davis' mind linked Jake and Hazel to come so they could know as well and from there we set up strategies and made plans for the next few hours.

It is 1030 and I decided we needed to take a break, since we're supposed to clear the area for Lariyah to run tonight, especially because I know it's already been almost a month since she last went. I suggested that we go ahead and clear out the west side earlier than usual. Ace wanted to be let out as well to get rid of this pent up frustration.

Everything is going smoothly. Lariyah knows if there is any danger then she is to call us immediately through the mindlink and we'd be there in seconds.. The kids are having the time of their lives in wolf form.... Everyone on watch is finally calm but still on alert. We just gave the kids a little space. Ajak wanted to do something nice for Lariyah since it is her birthday and so he took her to the secret waterfall for a little surprise. There was no other way in or out without going into the clearing that no wolf could fit through and barely any males could as well. I haven't been able to get into it myself for at least 10 years now.

Everything is quiet and peaceful, then all of a sudden, a mindlink opened up to us saying, OH MY GODDESS HE'S GOING TO KILL US. Lariyah screamed. Ace and I bulldozed through the tiny clearing making an even bigger entrance and I just knew I was going to be feeling that in the morning, but I quickly shrugged it off and there stood my son stalking towards Lariyah and Ajak in mid shift while growling and I just knew someone looked like they were going to be hurt or worse, dead if this wasn't stopped in time.
