*POV Derby* The black sedan waited at the curb like it already knew I was going to make another bad decision. I stood frozen on the sidewalk for a long second, aware of how many eyes from the office building were probably watching. Refusing would only feed the rumors already swirling around me. I opened the door and slid into the passenger seat. The interior smelled like him—clean soap, faint expensive cologne, and that darker, warmer note that had wrapped around me in the hotel room.
