Things happened so fast that no one could react as a resounding thwack filled the room as the sheriff’s fist met Bobby’s temple, dropping him to the floor unconscious. As soon as the call connected, Buddy said, “Matt, I need you at Kaitie’s. Don’t ask any questions. Just get your butt over here.” There was a brief pause before Buddy replied, “Yes, Kaitie’s house.
