Trouble in Paradise

“I knew it was your plan to sell the company to that slut of yours! Look at me , Alphard. You must really be ashamed of your f*****g bad ass game!” Daisy shouted while she threw the glass on the wall, shattering it into pieces that spread all over. I was reading a magazine when she stomped in the bedroom spitting fire and venom. “What ? Are you out of your mind again!” I dropped the magazine on the floor and jumped out of bed. She usually had no proper way of solving out any issue, she would rather throw hefty tantrums over the merest of it. “You are pretending as if you are speaking in tongues , right! In fact you have never loved me, if you can knowingly lease the company to your ex wife then I am not just disappointed in your demeanor. This is unexplainably treasonous!” Me! Leased the company to Shaline! When? Which company at first! Thoughts cruised through my mind before i could finally connect the dots. “You are talking about Easterno Hall Company,” l calmly asked. “Do you have memory lapses or something?” She fired again. I struggled with my emotions , stepped back to avoid hitting her when i couldn't put up with her sharp tongue. “I sold the company to Flossin Business Group. I have the documents to prove so,” l innocently argued. “I thought you leased the company!” She fumed. “Why is Shaline running the company? In Fact you intentionally sold it to her and you are lying to me that you sold it to what group? You two have something going on behind my back!” She raged. I felt my body temperature rapidly rise as l ran my fingers through my hair. Somehow, it dawned on me that Shaline owned Flossin Business Group. My mind flew back to the small grave in the cemetery again. I was f****d up! Shaline had easily acquired the company l had struggled to build at a throw away price. I felt a certain weakness in my knees, l effortlessly fell back on the bed and buried my face between my sweaty palms. “There were many bidders, but you chose Shaline, didn't you? Am certain this was more of a plan than anything else natural. You have to get the company back or else we are done,” she cursed. “Whatever! It was outrightly your fault,” l said as quickly dialed Shaline's number which went unanswered throughout the night. I had the longest night ever in my life. If shooting yourself in your foot was a person then l was the one. I made a fool of myself and nothing was still making sense. Flossin was the name of the dead kid rejected, now she was back to haunt me in a completely different way. I had already lost billions within a few months. I made up my mind to get the company back at all costs. She responded to my missed calls the next day and we scheduled a prompt meeting. I couldn't recognize my company the moment i drove my car to the parking lot. The atmosphere was sparkling different. I felt nervous in the lift flirting with the idea of having the only cool opportunity to convince Shaline into reigniting our former flame. Nothing was impossible or so i thought. The butterflies in my stomach and the frenzy mood all disappeared the moment i opened the door. I wished l shouldn't have come at first. I had been played. Fabian Moreira sat back clad in a blue fitting suit. He stopped going through the files and stared at me as if l was a burglar got red-handed. I summoned the remaining courage from my tensed nerves to face him. “Am here to see the CEO,” l broke the silence with a simple sentence. “Am the CEO, go on,” he lifted one eye brow and glanced at the envelope in my hand. “Am aware that l legally sold this company to Flossin Business Group without knowing that you own the group right away,” l paused as l fished the documents from my envelope. “After the damn realization, l have decided to buy back the company at a price not exceeding double the one l sold you the company. From a legal point of view,” l explained. A minute of silence followed while he went through the documents. “I suppose you are not out of your mind or anything of that sort. No one forced you to sell the company at whatever price. You had options to choose the buyer and you willingly chose Flossin. You had a right to do your research about the group but you didn't. I want to make it clear that we are not going to sell back the company at any cost you may offer,” his deep voice echoed across the room filled with so much authority. A bitter pill to swallow. I had lost the company to my ex wife's mate and l was about to lose my marriage too. I stood up, feeling so lifeless ,mumbled a thank you and walked out. The throbs and bangs of pain hammered through my forehead as if l deserved whatever l was going through. Of all the people Shaline witly snatched the company from me? Was she revenging on for divorcing her years ago or what? “What's the progress? Are we having Easterno Hall back?” The first question the moment i walked into the pack house. I shoved the envelope away and ignored her question in anger. To hell with whatever lay ahead. “Didn't you hear me out?” She repeated. “No, we lost the company for good,” l retorted. I waited , anticipated to see her walk away and start packing but she emotionlessly glared at me. “Your plan worked, definitely,” she snickered. I know she was about to rage and blow up as usual. “You have thoughtfully ousted me from the company. Am not sure about your meeting with Shaline. I should have accompanied you instead.” “So what?” “What do you think makes you a man therefore?” That hit hurt but l maintained my cool. “I mean you ain't even a man enough! If you think l fear that w***e of yours then you are wrong.” “Stop shifting your failure to me, you were the one running the company when everything ran out of hand.” “I will go for Shaline on my own!” She declared. I knew she was going to cause more trouble than good. No matter how hard i tried to forget about Shaline, the memories flooded through my mind again and again. Probably she had my one and only son while l was going back and forth in a childless marriage. I came with another idea to get the company to my hands again as i walked to my favorite spot on the balcony before something peculiar got my attention.
