“What!” I yelled before Jake covered my mouth to silence me.
“I’ll link Dom now,” Jake informed, and we watched as his eyes glazed. “They’re on their way, Dom will follow our footprints.”
“So, what, we just stand here and wait?” I whispered angrily.
“If we go barging in now, there’s no telling what resources they have,” Jake reasoned but I felt a sharp pain in my chest just thinking about her and what they could be doing. Moving further away from the house, I started pacing to focus on anything except what we can’t do – save them.
