"That's not a strange occurance," he replied, felling less concerned. Kira smiled, because she had actually gotten everything she ever wanted. This was just medicine after death, and she was sure nothing could be done to revise it. "No?" She asked, hoping he would understand. "If so, then tell me..." She whispered, "when last did you sleep with her?" That kind of got Jax thinking hard. He was confused, trying to figure things out. "Exactly what I'm talking about." She said softly, all to convince him. Jax moved back, as the dots were beginning to connect. "You're really overthinking this whole thing." Kira laughed lightly, because she has done her own. "Am I?" She walked back to her seat, to get busy what she was doing before he entered. "You think I would stress through all the trouble, just to go wrong at the end?" Jax didn't reply her. Kira watched him for sometime, then picked up her lipstick and started applying it slowly. "She obviously lied about everything," she said. "I don't care anymore. She can do whatever she likes with her life." Kira's hand paused in the in the air, because Jax was beginning to speak her language. "Oh? Is that so?" "I'm done with everything that has to do with Elara." He replied with finality in his voice. Kira smiled, as she was beginning to think he would go back to her after everything. To her, it was one of the best news that day. "That's good then " she continued. "Because, if I can't have you for myself...then, no one will ever do " she concluded. Jax was already getting uncomfortable, but Kira was smiling. She had already won. **************** As for Selene, all she wanted was silence, no one to disturb her. She didn't need voices nest her, no whispers of what had happened. No pity from any pack member. Her room, had become the only refuge she ever know. She always ensured the curtains were drawn, lights dim, her phone face down on the table, almost useless. She sat on her bed, not moving, staring into space. Everything felt loud after all that happened. Her mind had never ceased to replay all that happened over and over again. And it was at it again. Elara, her best friend, and her father. She squeezed her eyes shut, as she tried to get them out of her head. "No..." She whispered, but the more she tried, the more the images kept flooding her head. The ceremony that had started peacefully, but ended a disaster after the accusations. The truth of what really transpired, and the video that backed them up. "How could Elara of all people..." Selene whispered. Her voice hadn't been the same, always shaking. "How could she be that cruel to me?" A tear slipped down her cheek, but she made no effort to clean them. "And Dad...my own father..." That hurt more than she ever thought it could. Her father, who has been her protector, her safe place. The man that she trusted will always stand for her, will never do anything to hurt her. Selene let out a weak laugh. "Guess all those promises were also a lie to." She dragged in frustration through her hair. Her breathing was still uneven. "They both lied to me..." The room she was in suddenly looked small, and as she stood up, her head started spinning. She noticed her legs had started shaking, to the point she could not stand firmly on the ground. Selene frowned, trying to figure out what was happening to her. "What is going on...?" She quickly grabbed the edge of the bed for support. She was able to regain her strength, making her relaxed, taking it as nothing. "It's probably stress...," she muttered, not taking it as anything serious. To her, everything that transpired happened all at once without warning, a d of course, her body reacted. She waved it off, as her body's way of regulating what happened. Not long, a sharp ache hit her at the chest. It wasn't the kind she can consider as pain, it was more like pressure, so she didn't put much thought into it. She pressed her chest, to know if she will feel something abnormal at that place. "Okay..." She took a deep breath, then another, telling herself it was nothing. Then, just like that, it faded away, though not at once, but slowly. "Wow... I'm really losing my mind because of these two people I allowed into my life." She laughed, her laughter still shaky. She decided to return back to bed, to rest more. "Great timing." She couldn't afford suffering while those that offended her are seen walking freely on the streets, while she lay bedridden because of heart attack. But the more she tried to ignore it, the more she couldn't take her mind off. She stared at the ceiling, hoping to see something that would distract her. She felt empty inside, and she hoped she would get over everything soon. "Selene?" She heard her mother's voice, but she didn't respond. Then came knock, another and another, but she still didn't make any move to open the door. "Selene, please, open the door." Still, nothing happened.
