There were soft music playing in the background, as wolves gathered, some in clusters, others coming alone. They stopped at some point to exchanged pleasantries, and of course, a few gathered at a corner to gossip. "Can you believe what is about to happen?" One of the she wolf whispered excitedly beside Kira. "Elara and Jax of all people? I never saw that combination coming at all." Her companion wasn't pleaded as much, because she scoffed lightly. She was definitely there for so obvious reasons best known to her. "After everything that transpired between the both of them? Who would think she could stop so low to getting bonded with Jax? Well, I'm not that surprised. Her mother isn't the type to allow shame linger in their family name." Kira smiled faintly, moving closer to them. "Or maybe," she decided to contribute to the discussion, "some things might not actually be what they seemed to be on the surface." The two ladies immediately turned to face her. "What do you mean by that?" One of them asked out of curiosity. Kira struggled nonchalantly. "Nothing serious," she said, feigning innocence and at the same time, sowing discord between them. " It's just my little observation." From across them, Jax stood proudly with his friends, striking the posture of a perfect groom. His chest was out, his smile wide, everything about him showed someone who had already won. "You're one lucky bastard to have landed yourself such a damsel in distress." One of his packmates laughed out loudly, patting him on the shoulder. Jax smirked, his teeth shining brightly. "I know right ." "You really went far to getting her back, huh? After everything that happened between the both of you?" Jax expression became hard, as he glanced at her direction. "She has always been mine, she just didn't know that." He replied. Kura narrowed her eyes, still trying to figure out what he meant by that. It's not surprising that she was still listening to him from where she was. The distance wasn't that much, but enough to strain someone's ears. "She has always been yours?" She muttered under her breath. Then, her lips curved into a dangerous smirk. "Well, that won't be too long anymore. I'm going to make sure of that." Selene on the other hand, managed to come around, but she was seating a few feet's away, quiet and detached from whateywas going on there. She was just there, watching everything unfold like a guest. This was nothing close to what she had imagined her best friend's wedding to be. "You okay?" A friend walked up to her, surprised that she wasn't playing best friend duty. Selene quickly forced a smile, as she doesn't want anyone asking her too much questions. "Yeah...just feeling a bit tired." "You don't look happy at all, are you sure everything is okay?" Selene hesitated for a few seconds. This is something she dreads so much. Then, she sighed, "It's actually not about me." Kira also caught that from the corner she was sitting. Of course, that's one of the reasons she came there. She watched Selene for some time, then decided it wasn't yet time to act. "No yet," Kira whispered to herself. Very soon, the elders started gathering near the ceremonial stand, ready to resume the ritual. Their voices were low, but in serious tone. "This union must hold today," one of the elders said firmly. And from the sound of their voices, thee seemed to be underlying issue yet to be treated. "It will," another replied. "Of course, Liora won't permit anything else other than what is planned to happen." While all of this was happening, Kira was still eavesdropping. "Wouldn't she do that?" She murmurex to herself again, still calculating time to strike. "Kura," she heard her name, making her to look up to the direction of the voice, and there was Jax, standing before her.
