"Where's she?"
That was Alpha Ronan, as he walked through the hallway to meet his daughter. He fought so hard to still maintain his Alpha aura, because he was losing his mind. The healer immediately glanced up from the notes he was holding.
.
"Alpha...." He called softly, trying to calm him down.
"I remember asking a question!"
His tone now vetu dangerous, to the point those standing around all flinched in fear.
"Where's my daughter, healer?"
The healer exhaled, not where to start explaining to him. If only could calm down a little.
"She's been moved to a private ward, so she could be taken care of properly.
Ronan didn't even wait for him to finish, as in the next minute, he was already moving. He turn to the direction without anyone directing him, a d with long and heavy strides, he was already there before anyone could blink.
His wolf was already restless, trying so hard to remain calm and steady. This was too much for him to bear. Everything was happening too fast. Selene, his selene. His only child lying weak and fighting for her dear life.
And Elara on the other hand was gone. Gone with no trace. He clenched his jaw, held himself together.
"She didn't even care to come to me..." He murmured to no one under his breath.
The words were bitter, but he still said them.
"She was thrown by her own mother out of their home...and she didn't see reason to come to me after everything...."
His wolf growled inside him, reminding him they need to find her. As he was there, he felt the bond been pulled. It was too painful, happening too often, but she kept on resisting them. She was busy pushing him away, even now that she was in a situation, she still didn't want him close to her.
It didn't make sense. It didn't feel right at all. She had lost everything because of this bond, but she still didn't want to embrace it fully. Instead, she's out there suffering. It may not make sense to many, but there was no time to dwell on them. All she needed was acknowledge the bond, accept it and allow it guide her, but she was hell bent on making life very hard for the both of them.
Alpha Ronan finally pushed the door open, and before lay Selene in bed, now pale, and too still. This wasn't the lively daughter he knew. This isn't the selene that was dull of life a couple of hours back.
By her side was Mira, her eyes now swollen, her face tired. He didn't need a soothsayer to tell him she had been crying since the news came to her.
Of course, no mother could bear their daughter on such state. After a few seconds, she finally looked up at him. And her expression changed immediately.
"You shouldn't have come here." She told him without missing words. Ronan didn't react, didn't care to say anything. He knew she was reacting from the news, ad decided to let her be.
But when she repeated the same time again, he decided to remind her that he's her father.
"She's also my daughter, Mura "
Mira scoffed, like he just said something unreasonable.
"It's really funny how you are able to remember that now. I thought you've lost your memory completely."
Ronan decided to ignore the jab, as that wasn't his reason for coming around. He needed to be around for his daughter, abd that's what he would do. He fixed his gaze on selene, wondering where he started getting it all won't to not have noticed.
"She's going to be alright.' he said, but to no one in particular.
Mira let out a bitter laugh, and Ronan could tell she doesn't believe in him again.
"Will she? After everything you made her pas through?"
Ronan didn't reply, he just stayed calm. Then, the healer entered to meet the both of them.
"Alpha... Luna."
They both turned to look at him, wondering what he had to say, if tmit would be good news, or to finally let them know that she won't survive it.
"What is it? Ronan asked, already impatient.
The healer waited for a few seconds, then continued.
"There seems to be a possibility that..."
"What possibility ate you talking about, they both grabbed the word out of his mouth before he could finish.
"Selene's condition is brty aggressive, yes .. but it's also not without a little hope."
Both of them sat upright, all waiting for the solution, ad their ears and eyes were wide open.
"Speak clearly for us to understand you."
"A bone marrow transplant would solve the problem."
The room became quiet, too calm. Mira blinked, still confused on how that is the problem, but doesn't have time to understand anything. All she ever wanted is for her daughter to get well soon.
"...a transplant?"
The healer nodded just once.
"If we are lucky to find a compatible donor, her chances of living again would increase significantly."
That shows there's hope. Even though it might be small and fragile, they were ready to go miles, in search of a donor. Anything that would make selene stand on her feet again wa worth trying.
Ronan immediately turned to the healer.
"Then, waste no time in testing me immediately." He said, already getting ready.
Mira turned to him, annoyed that he was playing savior.
"Of course you're her father, you will be tested." She snapped.
"I will also be tested."
Then the healer continued. "We will start by getting her immediate family tested first, and if none worhrf out, we will extend it to the pack."
Ronan nodded, ready to be the first to undergo the test.
"Do it immediately. There's no time to waste."
Mira's worried voice cut in softly.
"She will have a chance to live... right?"
The healer hesitated, searching for the right words to reply her.
"If we're lucky to find a match...then yes."
