"Ronan.." she called softly, the name slipping out like he was her mate, before she could stop herself. That made his eyes darken instantly, more like his name on her lips did something to him. Something very dangerous.
"Say that again," he murmured, his voice very hoarse, and intoxicating. Elara swallowed hard, trying so hard to get hold of herself. She knew that they were just in-between repeating history again. His eyes showed how much he craves her, to do unimaginable things to her, and the condition was for her to say his name, again.
"No," she replied, disappointing him. "You shouldn't be here in the first place. This is completely wrong."
"Wrong? " He repeated, moving a step closer, to the point there was barely a space between them. She could feel his warmth, his breathe all over her face. His scent was intoxicating, making her almost lose control of herself, and her wolf stirring restlessly within her.
"Was it also wrong when you kissed me?" He asked quietly, making her breath to hitch.
"Stop..." Elara whispered, her strength failing her. But he didn't, he wasn't willing to do that.
"Was it wrong when you ..."
"Yes!" She snapped with the last strength in her, her voice breaking down. "Yes, it was all wrong! Everything that happened was wrong!"
Everywhere became as calm as a graveyard, the environment charged with unknown longing. Ronan stared at her, his gaze blank, but his wolf ..his wolf kept reaching out to her, and she could feel it as well. It was demanding for her, to claim her all over again, but both of them stood there, saying nothing.
"You don't mean any of those words," he finally said, with a low voice.
"I do," she insisted, and with a trembling voice.
Then, he moved closer to her again, her back to the wall, making her trapped.
"Then, why does your wolf have another opinion of what you are saying? He murmured, his voice intoxicated, his face just inches apart from hers.
"I can feel it," he continued. From the pull, to the connection. And you can't deny not feeling it." Elara squeezed her eyes shut, more like that would save her, and disconnect her from him. She could feel it, do badly in her guts, but she refused to admit it. At least, not in front of him now.
"Ronan..." She whispered, and her voice cane out weaker this time. He lifted his hand slowly, hesitant at first, then, he brushed her cheek ls gently. The feel was dangerously soft, making her body to react instantly, welcoming him.
She couldn't breath well again, her fingers curling into his shirt before she had the time to think it through. And suddenly...
He lost control and kissed her. It came out hard, and desperate. Like he had been starved of kiss all his life. Elara gasped against his warm lips, but made no effort to push him off. She couldn't do that, if though her brain alerted her of the danger. Instead, her hands tightened on his shirt, pulling him even closer
Everything they were doing was wrong. But at same time, felt so right. Too right to even care about what people would say.
Then, his hands slid to her waist, gripping her firmly, pulling her against him. At that point, her body which she thought to be in control of, betrayed her. She leaned into him, melting completely under his touch. A soft melodious sound escaped her lips, dragging her deeper into the ocean of desire.
Then, Ronan suddenly froze. He pulled back abruptly, suddenly coming to his senses. His breathing still hasn’t stabilized, as he stared at her with his wild eyes, conflicted in what to do.
"What exactly are we doing?" He muttered, but it was more to himself than to her. Elara stood there, still trying to recover from whatever just happened.
"I don't know..." She whispered back. They stood in silence for a few seconds, his gaze dropped on her stomach. She immediately caught what he meant by that.
"Elara..." He started softly. "The pregnancy...I heard about it. Does it.."
"No..."
"Look at me, and tell me all the truth that you know," he demanded fiercely, his voice suddenly sharp and commanding like the Alpha that he is.
She quickly shook her head negatively. "It's Jax's."
The words came out rolling fast, and very suspicious. It was too rehearsed to be believed, making Ronan narrow his eyes at her.
"No."
""I don't believe a word of what you said,* he replied. This made her become nervous, but she still held herself together.
"You're wrong on your believe," she insisted, defending herself. "It's his. We were still together, even after the night we had together."
Ronan stepped forward, but slower this time.
"I can tell you this for free; my wolf doesn't react to lies," he pointed out quietly. "And it hasn't reserved a bit since I got the news of your pregnancy."
Elara didn't know what to say at this point, as kept quiet, avoiding his eyes.
"I don't know what you want me to say again," she whispered, wishing he would leave her alone.
"I want only the truth," he replied.
"I already told you everything that you need to know."
There was silence again, more like both of them were deep in thought. It lasted longer than usual, and this time, very heavy.
Ronan studied her face, trying to detect if she was lying by just staring at her. He search for a sign, even if it was a little crack, just something to prove that he was right. But Elara held her ground, not willing to back down.
Finally, he stepped back, giving them a reasonable distance, a cold distance, but it wasn't defeat.
"This isn't over yet," he said quietly. "I will definitely find out the truth, Elara," he added, his gaze locking onto hers once again. And when I do..."
He didn't finish his statement. He left hanging on the air. Because he didn't need to say them out. It was already staring at her.
Then, he turned...and walked away.
