Five Years Later. “Good morning Miss Miller,” Jessica Stuart greeted Elena, handing her a cup of freshly brewed coffee. “Good Morning Jess, how's it going?” “Nothing much, but I did manage to get a headstart on some of the tasks you assigned me yesterday,” Jessica said, scrolling through her tablet. “Excellent, I appreciate the initiative. How have the sales been at the other branches, I heard they ran out. ” Ava asked, placing her bag on her desk, before taking her seat. “Well, I've made provision for more. Hopefully, they'll arrive before noon.” Jess said. “Perfect, you have done great.” She responded, “What are my schedules for the day?” “Well, none that we haven't covered, although… Gabriel Landon will be coming over today.” She said, raising her eyebrows playfully. “He wants to finalise the contract.” She added with a smile. Previously, Elena had met Gabriel Landon at a fancy restaurant, and luckily for her, he owned a modelling industry. After some quality time together, he offered her a contract to work with her as a supplier, knowing fully well about her brand's success. And today was the day he had chosen to finalise the contract. Jessica was delighted about his arrival. She was so happy that he finally got to work with them. “That's right… Gabriel.” Elena smiled. “So, is that the reason for your stunning appearance today, ma'am?” Jessica giggled. “Stop it, Jess.” Elena's cheeks flushed pink, “How would I possibly know?” “Mhmm, I believe you.” She rolled her eyes. “Well, just make preparations for his arrival, okay?” “Alright ma'am,” Jessica smiled, closing the door behind her. “Mmm… Just what I needed.” Elena exclaimed after taking a sip of coffee. She picked up her son's portrait, casting a warm smile at it. He reminded her of how far she had come. Asher was the only reason she strived up till this day, and five good years had passed since the plane crashed. The first year was a pain in the ass, going through the fashion school with her pregnancy. The following year was even tougher when she gave birth to him. She initially wanted to quit but fortunately, he gave her hope. In her third year, she divulged into cosmetics and beauty products, wanting to seize all the opportunities Ivan had to offer. Eventually, she started her own company, the EM Luxe, and with a lot of dedication, she was able to take it to a much higher level. It is currently the fastest-growing brand, dealing with luxurious clothes, quality bags, and beauty products. She returned to New York City, to expand her brand. And in no time, it was the top headline in the fashion industry. Jessica had played a major role in her success story, and even with her flaws, they still managed to take the brand to where it is today. She sometimes managed the company while Elena spent time with Asher, but indeed, they have done a lot of great things, working together. However, Ivan had warned her about Kyle and his hungry taste to ruin her life, so she had to make some necessary changes to her life. From big decisions like changing her last name to Miller, down to smaller ones like her hairstyle, thus, it made her appear like a whole new person, but regardless, she was still Elena. >>> Kyle sat in his study holding on to a ring, not just any ring but that of his ex-wife. It was the only possession he had to remember her. More of the only thing he had gotten her. Such a jerk he was. Since the death of his ex-wife, he has been working tirelessly to drain the guilt he felt. All the fantasies and dreams he planned on having with Sophia died as soon as things took an unexpected turn. Presently, his relationship with Sophia became sour with each passing month. She wasn't who he thought she was, and it felt like her whole demeanour changed when Elena left. Eventually, they got engaged and it was his mother's idea, she felt it was best if he moved on, but he knew it was likely for politics. “Still playing with that silly ring babe?” Sophia asked as she walked in. Sigh! Kyle stared at her, she was fully dressed in a red, one-shoulder, ruched dress, which complimented her lip gloss and handbag. They got into his Rolls Royce Phantom, heading to an auction house for rare collectibles. Kyle wanted to get a gift for his mother since she valued rare artifacts. On their way there, his chauffeur, David, informed him. “Sir, the event has been rescheduled till further notice.” He stated. “Is there anywhere else you'd want to go to?” Kyle turned towards Sophia expectantly, he had no other plans for the day, and he knew she would unfailingly come up with something. “Can we go shopping?” She asked with a smile playing across her face. Kyle furrowed his eyebrows, you could tell how tired he had gotten from her shopping request. “It's the top brand in the city, it's going to be a jaw-dropping experience.” Her eyes filled with a quiet desperation. “Fine.” He agreed to it. He turned back towards David, “You heard her.” Before scrolling through the news headline on his tab. They arrived at a tall building, although quite big for a*****e, it had its name, stated in large letters, EM LUXE. “Aren't you coming?” She asked as he continued on his tab. One who knew her would know that the only reason she wanted to go anywhere with him was to flaunt that they were engaged. But he already knew what he got himself into when he agreed to come here with her in the first place. He got out of the car, and as usual, the people stood in awe and gasps could be heard from the bystanders. He was welcomed by the sales associate and he was quite impressed by the amount of work put into the place. However, He froze when he saw the beautiful woman, looking right at him with a cold yet gentle smile as she walked down the floating staircase.
