“Seba?” Hearing her voice, Seba hurled herself to the side of the tunnel. She pressed against the cold rock, allowing an avalanche of bodies to stream past, and squinted around. A few of those bodies cut across the current of motion. She loosed a dry sob of relief when she spotted Max. “Max,” she gasped, reaching for him. His warm hand closed on her clammy, trembling one. “We have to evacuate now,” he told her. The other members of the Smarlindian Tribunal trailed him.
