A couple days later, Andrew and I stood behind the podium once more. Again, we were dressed in matching outfits—this time, royal blue—and held each other’s hands tightly. It was important that we presented a strong, united front to the public, Andrew argued, and since I didn’t quite understand what that meant, I just followed his lead. The same reporters as before stood before us, their pens, styluses, iPads, and iPhones at the ready. My knees wanted to buckle under the pressure of their eyes staring expectantly at us, but Andrew’s side pressed against mine gave me enough strength to carry on.
