The Reindeer Farm
As Maggie headed up the road from Simon’s place, she quickly realised that there was no way Miffy could have walked all the way to her cottage from the reindeer farm. She had been walking for ten minutes through snow before she even reached the fork in the road, and it was another fifteen minutes after that before the trees opened out again and she saw a cluster of farm buildings and animal enclosures on a gentle hillside in front of her. Through the trees lower down the slope, she saw that indeed she had walked in a large circle that was winding back into the village.
In her pocket, Miffy had fallen asleep. Maggie nudged the kitten, and Miffy gave a lazy yawn before settling back down. Maggie smiled. Unless Miffy had a great love of snow and adventure, someone had
