9 Henry The fug of a hangover that Maggie had been expecting to wake to wasn’t there. As she opened her eyes on December 21st and her first morning in Hollydell, she felt remarkably fresh, as though she’d drunk nothing more than a few glasses of fruit juice. She got up, took a hot, powerful shower, dressed and then went downstairs. She found the welcome guidebook on the table next to the door where she had left it. Inside were pamphlets advertising everything from evening forest walks to dog sled tours, notifications of a series of Christmas events, and details on the various restaurants and facilities.
