I was standing in front of the door to Kael’s office, my hands clenching and unclenching as I relived the moment when he kissed me. Clarity was all I needed. Gulping down the lump in my throat, I opened the door wide.
“Ravena, give me a minute,” Kael said, sounding authoritative, but his focus was on the lycans sitting across from him.
I agreed, though he did not turn to me, and I sat down, noting the strain in the room. The lycans looked deep in thought and this made me think that they are discussing something serious.
At what seemed to the humans like an eternity, the lycans left, their expressions serious, as they looked at Kael and me.
