IT was the third day of the second week of February, when she woken up from another bad dream.
I hate my life.
She sighed and made her bed before going to her bathroom. She stared at the mirror, watching her reflection, shallow emotions in her eyes, and wet eyelashes. She got her nasal spray ‘cause she knew that she would catch cold later. She spray it thrice in both of her nasal, and she brushes her teeth after.
“And it goes like this... It is what it is, what it is, what it is, what it is. Hey!” Kanta niya habang nagluluto. It’s her routine to lighten up her mood. She’s used to it. Pain when she wakes up, and lightens her mood after. Bad energy can affect her business.
“I am the shadows under my eyes. I am the comments, but I’m not the likes. I am a diamond pressure to shine. Just want you to see me to stand in the light. I am me. I am strong. I am more than enough. I am weak. I am wrong, but I’ll never give up. Then, you can praise me, hate me , and see the best and worst in me. Just want you to know...to know. Who I am.” She sings into her heart’s content. She can relate to it. A lot of people hate and praise her, but most of them judge her and make fun of her.
One of her dreams was to become a theater actress. However, her worst nightmare came. She was not allowed to sing anymore, especially singing with high notes. If she does, she will lose her voice.
Without the music, her ear would explode because of the silence.
A few minutes, she finally arrived at Samara’s rented house.
“Günaydin, Miss Taia.” Bati nito sa kaniya. She smiled and greeted her, as well.
She’s used to it.
“Hindi tayo talo, ah. I just care. So?”
“Opo.
“Good morning, Kuya Tom.”
“GOOD MORNING!” she greeted all her employees. They stand up and greeted her, too.
“Nag-almusal na ba kayong lahat?” tanong niya.
I want everyone to be healthy and comfortable.
She heaves a sigh looking at the papers on top of her desk.
“Work.” She muttered, and starts reading then signing it.
She keeps on sighing while reading the papers. Even if Samara checked it already for her, still she won’t settle because she knew how tired her secretary was.
Three hours have passed and she’s finally done.
“Thank God.” She sighed in relief and stretching her arms while yawning. She checked her phone to see the time and she was shocked.
“Malapit na pala mag-12. Oh, well. At least, I’m done.” She heard a knock and her secretary came in.
“What is it, Samara?” she confusedly asked.
“Someone called and asked for a meeting, Miss.”
“Who? Is it a he or a she?” she asked while piling the papers she just finished signing, a while ago.
“He didn’t mention his name, Miss.” Her left eyebrow lift and smirk.
“A he. Okay. Just make it sure that he’s not a pervert,” she said.
The last time I had an appointment was an old pervert man. I don’t want it to happen, again.
“Right away, Miss. Should I announce to everyone to take their lunch break?”
“Yes, please. Please tell me that they already take their snacks.” She said with pleading eyes. Samara chuckled a little.
“Of course. Rules are rules. Health is important. I will ready your appointment with him.” She replied and that made her smiled.
“Sure. Thank you, Samara. After doing your job, take a break, okay? You may now leave.” She said and Samara left her office. She sighed and lean her back on her swivel chair.
“Bored in the house. Bored in the house.” She sings with her eyes closed and snapping her fingers, she remembered her friend, Anelle, used to do this when she's also bored.
She stand up immediately and smiled. She spread her arms to approach Yna with a warm hug; Yna is like a big sister to her. Yna knew everything about her ability.
“What brought you here?” she asked and guide Yna to sit in one of her sofa.
“I heard the news about what happened to you.
She was shocked when Yna started crying.
“Hey, Yna. I’m fine.” She said.
“Fine?! Are you insane?! The cuts...are deep.” Yna cried and was about to press it, she stopped her immediately. She knew that Yna’s afraid of blood.
“I know that expression, Taia. Don’t even think of killing yourself. You’re giving me a heart attack.” Yna said and she just smiled.
“Lunch break na hindi ka pa uuwi?” Tanong nito habang may tinitingnan sa phone na hawak.
“I have an important meeting with someone now. I’m just waiting for Samara’s text message. You?” she asked and crossed her leg.
“I just want to see you and besides, your office was two blocks away from my daughter’s school.
I’m so happy for you, Yna.
“You always know what’s best for me. You’re my guardian angel. Thank you. If without your ability, I should be in trash by now. Alagaan mo sarili mo, okay? She heavily sighed.
Darating ba kaya?
“Siguro. Baka na-traffic lang ‘yon.” Biro niya rito. Yna bid goodbye to her and soon after, she finally received a message from Samara. Umalis na siya pagkatapos mabasa ang mensahe.

HE was waiting for the person to arrive while he keeps on glimpsing at his watch.
I don’t know who it was but all I know was a woman. I shouldn’t be the one attending this stupid meeting but my crazy friend, Kieun, asked a favor.
He dialed his friends’ number and call him.
(Getting bored?)
He sighed in frustration. He hates late person.
“Who doesn’t? Will she come?” he asked in frustration and massage the bridge of his nose.
(Yeah. Any minute now. Pull yourself together, bud.) The man chuckled which pissed him.
“K. I shouldn’t be here.”
(Well, you can’t resist my charm that’s why you’re there.)
“F*ck you.”
(You’re welcome.) And end the call. He sighed, and drink a glass of water that was served to him when he arrived. A few minutes, he heard footsteps going to his direction, so he stand up to approach her.
“I’m sorry, Mr. Crook. It was tra— You?” the woman stopped from talking when she saw him. He was also stunned and couldn’t speak. He’s been thinking about the woman he saved and now it’s in front of him.
“You.” He whispered; he couldn’t take his eyes off of her. He feels like those beautiful eyes were meant for him, the sparkle in her eyes.
“You’re not Mr. Crook. Where is he?” she breaks the silence between them that sends a different sensation in his body.
Her voice is like music to my ears.
“Ahm... Are you okay?”
“Yes. Crook didn’t make it because he have an important matter to attend. He asked a permission to me to attend this meeting. I hope it’s okay with you.” He said and helped her to sit down.
“It’s okay. Ano ka nga pala niya?” Tanong nito sa kaniya.
She’s avoiding my gaze now.
I want those dark brown eyes to just looked at me.
“I’m his friend.” Sabat niya rito. Taia smiled and looked outside. He cleared his throat that captures her attention, and he smiled at her. He looked like a dork, that’s what he thinks of himself. For the past two hours, they stayed and talk seriously about their businesses and sharing with each other’s opinion about the project that he proposed to her, since, that’s what Crook told him.
“It’s nice making business with you, Mr. Oh. Have a nice day. She said to him. He wants to talk to her or ask her out but before he could speak—she left. He sighed and he saw his friend, Zacharielli Stevan Kieun Crook came out of its car. He gave him a ‘what are you doin’ here?’ look. Crook approached him with a smile.
“What?” he asked him flatly like he already knows what his friend’s doing here.
“Did you get her number?” Kieun asked which made him stunned.
“What?”
“Come on.”
“You care for her number not about the business that we talked about?” he said in disbelief.
“Yeah. It’s just a show, you know. I just want you to meet a new woman in your life. Malapit ka ng lumampas sa kalendaryo, dude.” His face turned serious and without a warning—he punched him.
“What was that for?!” but he just ignored him and walked out of the restaurant.
“Hey, Dave!” Crook keeps on calling him but he just ignored it. He hates that his stupid friend make an appointment and just like that. He let a woman waste her gas for nothing.
Damn that bastard!
He was about to call Taia’s secretary to tell the truth but he stopped.
This might be the way for us to have a connection. Right?
He smiled of that thought and went back to his car, then head home to plan for his next meet up with her. He admits that he’s interested with her without any reasons. He just finds it weird that when Taia’s close to him, he felt something weird and only her can make his heart skipped a beat.
I’m insane.
