Q: What happened to you before you entered the science fiction field? What things forced, caused, or persuaded you to write this stuff?
Q:Anderson: Well I had enjoyed, reading science fiction and I also had done some writing as a hobby, which tended to be SF and so while was in college I submitted a story or two and was quite surprised when they were accepted. At the time I was studying to be a physicist but I sort of drifted into writing for living instead.
Anderson:Q: Were you influenced by the science fiction of the time? How far back do such influences go?
Q:Anderson: Oh I don"t know. I"d say within SF per se the strongest influence on me as with so many others has been Heinlein. Outside of him, besides the general cultural background that everybody has, the Bible and Shakespeare
