The air was filled with sweet smell of blooming jasmine, and the gentle rhythmic sound of rustling leaves matched with her racing emotions. She had been lost in thought all day as she taught about what might happen. She wandered if Alexander would finally share his real feelings, or he simply enjoyed being with her. The feeling left her wanting more? While she walked through the decorative archway, the garden looked so magical in the silver moonlight. Softly flickering lanterns lit the way, and the light guides her to the bench where they often met. The more steps she took, the more she felt both hopeful and unsure. She became thrilled about what could be and was worried about possible rejection. She took a deep breath and paused to calm her nerves. The garden was alive with night sounds of a owl from a distance and the quiet rustle of grass in the wind made It a special place, a world away from the rigid rules of the court, where she could let her heart roam free. Thinking about Alexander, she remembered his laughter and how being near him made her feel so alive. Would he share her feelings tonight? The question hung in the air like the scent of the surrounding roses. But when she reached the bench and found it empty, disappointment hit her. she heard footsteps from the shadows just as doubt started to creep in. Alexander stepped out from the shadows, and she had a leap in her heart. Looking warmly at her, His gaze made her heart beat faster, and in that moment, nothing else seemed to matter to them but the potential of what lay ahead for them. They took their seats, and Alexander began to share stories from his childhood he shared funny pranks, which he played on his siblings and wild adventures with his friends. Catherine listened intently, and laughter bubbles up as she pictured him as a lively young boy full of energy. Each story was vivid, and Catherine discovered a joy she had never felt before with so much laughing. They decided to continue their walk along the garden paths filled with fragrant flowers as the night went on. They had an engaging conversation that easily flowed, and Catherine was able to share parts of her life that she had always kept hidden. In the end, they got to the edge of a calm lake, its surface sparkles like diamonds in the moonlight. The serene beauty took away her breath, and Alexander stopped and turned to her, making her heartbeat to race faster. He had a genuine expression, and his eyes reflected his feelings as he looked at her. The air was filled with unspoken words, feelings that had neither voiced yet. Catherine felt sugar rush through her. The feeling was a blend of excitement and unease, and while they stood together at the edge of the water, she felt a connection she never imagined possible. Alexander whispered “Catherine,” “everything about this moment feels right” He completed his word Catherine’s heart raced as her gaze met his eyes , and she sensed how much he meant his words. With the lake being their only witness, she knew this was a turning point that may never be forgotten. “Catherine,” he continued, “ I’ve wanted to say something all along” She locked eyes with him, and she held her breath. “What is it?” she asked with a quiet voice. His eyes seemed to be searching her very soul. “I think I’m falling in love with you,” he confessed, his words brave and sincere. Catherine’s heart stopped. She did not expect him to reveal such feelings. Yet, the more she looked into his eyes, she recognized her own emotions reflected back at her. Everything else seemed to disappear and left just the two of them at that moment. A whirlwind of emotion, joy, fear, longing, stirred within her, and She saw only truth in his eyes, which mirrors her own desires. “Really?” she breathed, and a smile formed as the shock seemed ware off. Alexander replied “Yes,” with so much energy and with hope filling his steady voice. “I’ve tried to hide it, but I can’t do that anymore.” Her heart was filled with warmth and at that moment making it beat faster. This was the moment she had secretly wished for, although it felt almost too good to be true. But both had a rhetorical question in their mind, and they asked within themselves if they could really face the challenges their feelings would bring. Catherine was able to gather her courage. She moved closer to him and said to him, “I feel the same,” she admitted with her voice very firm. “I’ve been scared to say it, but I can’t hold it back any longer, too.” There, in the magical garden, which was surrounded by the sweet smell of flowers and the gentle light of the moon, they stood at the edge of something both beautiful and frightening. The night air was filled with excitement, and the pleasantness wrapped around them like a warm hug. Their hearts, which were once careful and unsure, now beat together, showing the silent bond they share.
