‘I wasn’t looking, in fact I don’t have another job to go to but I am having a bit of a lifestyle change.’ ‘Oh Christ! Don’t tell me you’ve turned straight and you’re marrying a sugar daddy?!’ ‘Hardly!’ I snorted with laughter ‘I bumped into Jo when I was on holiday and, well, we’re getting back together and I’m moving to Cornwall to be with her.’ Once again she sat there slack jawed as the news sunk in and I could see the cogs turning in her head as she considered the news. I expected a similar reaction from Zoe to the one I’d received on Saturday, as she’d also witnessed the fallout from last time and had covered for me admirably when I wasn’t able to do my job properly.
