I Would Love to Spend a Day with You

Everyone did what Roman said yesterday at noon to Ethan. Everyone was ready to go at 8 a.m. 

Ethan knew that Roman and his stooge were laughing at him. Ethan could feel a couple of eyes glancing at Ethan, then whispering. While an outdated villain will soon be replaced with a young and fresh villain, Roman smiled because he managed to take his enemies down. 

It reminds Ethan of one movie that he likes to watch called Despicable Me. Roman reminds him of one villain character, Gru. At the same time, his children are his stooges, small yellow creatures like pill capsules that are as annoying as their master. They are called minions. 

Liana decides to take over the car on the way to the zoo. Roman will take over the car on the way home. And if they stop by somewhere before going home, Odette will take over the car. At the same time, Mrs. Pearson will sit beside the driver’s seat, no matter who sits behind the wheel. Likewise, Miles and Niall, who sit in the back seat, will sit there no matter who’s behind the wheel and who is sitting in the middle seat. 

Unlike their neighbor, Ethan volunteered to drive wherever they would go, so his parents would sit comfortably in the back seat. But his parents refused his idea; instead, they called one of their drivers and promised a bonus if he wanted to drive until they came home. 

Luckily, the driver arrived five minutes before eight o’clock because they didn't want to see what Roman would do if they weren't ready to go at 8 o’clock. Mr. Oakland sat beside the driver’s seat. He and his mother sat in the back seat. 

It takes about an hour without traffic jams, even though it is a weekend. 

Their car parked next to each other so the driver could also have an eye on Pearsons' car as well. 

Liana was the first to get out of the car, stretching her arms up. Her joints feel stiff after driving for an hour. Roman jumped out and pushed his seat to make a way for the twins to get out. Odette then came out of the car with two backpacks, which she handed to Liana as soon as her feet touched the ground. In contrast, Mrs. Pearson is still locking herself in the car.

Just like what Mrs. Pearson did, Ethan’s parents locked themself in the car while Ethan came out from the car as soon as he saw the twins jump out from their car. 

“Are they kidding?” 

Ethan didn’t bother with any words that came from his parents because he knew them well, and they weren’t a group of people who like to go to this kind of place. They will always choose an expensive place like a restaurant or a luxury ferry with fun things to do that don’t require them to walk or be exposed to the sunlight for too long. 

Ethan walked confidently towards the Persons who were talking in front of their car. 

“Hi,” said Ethan to Liana, then he looked at everybody. 

Liana smiled, tucking her hair behind her ear. “Yeah, hi.” 

Odette nudged her sister’s back, and Liana then pinched her arm. Odette couldn’t hide her laugh. Her laugh exploded. Even some people who accidentally passed by turned their eyes for a few seconds at Odette because her laugh was quite loud. 

“Ethan,” called Odette, all of a sudden. 

Ethan turns his gaze to Odette, who smirks at Ethan. Ethan can conclude that she expects Ethan to be cooperative. At the same time, Roman laughed and shook his head. 

“Don’t you want to carry her bag? That bag is so heavy, and there are milk, water, and snacks for our brother inside the bag.” 

Liana turned her back on Ethan, but Ethan knew what she was doing; she widened her eyes to Odette. Ethan smiled for a moment before he turned his eyes at Roman. Roman raised his eyebrows when Ethan smiled at him. 

“I would be happy to carry your bag if your father allows me to.” 

Roman turned his gaze to his left side. He didn’t find anything interesting, only a line of cars and a group preparing to enter the zoo. “Why ask my permission?” 

“I’ll take that as a yes.” 

Liana handed her backpack when Ethan gave her a hand. Then after holding Liana’s bag with one hand, he gave his other hand to Odette; Odette shook her head and pushed Ethan’s hand. 

“I can carry it by myself. It’s only a diaper and some clothes. It is not as heavy as Liana’s bag,” Odette said. 

Ethan nodded, then carried the bag on his back. As Odette said, it’s pretty heavy. 

That sweet moment made whose who was still in the car; Mrs. Pearson, Mr. Mrs. Oakland rushed out, then smiled, which felt more like a mockery to Liana and Ethan. But both Liana and Ethan were getting used to it, and decided to ignore them. 

“Since everyone has gotten out of the car, we should head to the entrance,” Roman said, without asking anyone’s approval, walking and holding hands with the twins, followed by LIana and Odette. 

Ethan decided to walk beside Liana, but he left a gap around the size of one person between Liana and him. Liana and Odette understood that Ethan couldn’t walk beside Roman and the twins, nor with his parents and Mrs. Pearson, so the ideal place for him to walk beside these two sisters. 

Mrs. Pearson and Mrs. Oakland’s outfits caught the attention of many people. Their high-heels were making a click-clack sound. Ethan just sighed softly. 

Ethan had told his mother that there wasn’t any car inside the zoo area, so they needed to walk a long way to see all the animals, so wearing high heels was not a wise decision. But instead of listening to Ethan’s advice, she grabbed black high heels with a red sole from the rack, then started wearing them. 

The same scenario happened at the Pearsons’ house, and maybe it was Roman who told his wife not to wear heels but just like his mother, Mrs. Pearson still grabs brown-like wooden shoes from the rack. 

While the rest of the group wear shoes, Ethan even wears shoes that he usually uses for exercise because these kinds of shoes are sturdy but light and comfortable to wear. 

Liana and Odette’s shoes that were more fashionable than others may be a bit uncomfortable, but they didn’t bother wearing them and looked cute in the photos. 

Roman wears black shoes that remind Ethan of his high school shoes, with white socks. The twins wore blue shoes filled with dog prints, and the sole of their shoes could glow as they walked. 

While Mr. Oakland wears leather shoes, it is not as painful as high heels, but leather shoes are uncomfortable for long walks. 

As for clothes, each of them matching to what they wear on their feet; Liana wears an overlay dress with a ditsy pattern, Odette wears a short and a t-shirt, Roman wears a red shirt and knee-length jeans, the twins also wear a t-shirt with a small dog print on the left side of their chest and trousers. Ethan wore a white v-neck shirt and jeans. 

Mr. Oakland wears a white long-sleeved shirt with office trousers, and he looks like an ambitious employee who goes to the office even on the weekends. Mrs. Oakland wore an ankle-length white shirt with a belt around her waist, while Mrs. Pearson wore a blazer. They looked more like going to a mall than going to the zoo. 

Liana and Odette had already booked tickets last night, and they waited in line to get the tickets, the maps of the zoo, and the schedule of some attractions that the zoo would hold. 

Liana and Odette came back with the tickets and other things. No one told anyone to do something, but Liana holds everyone's ticket, then gives the map to her dad and hands the schedule to Odette. 

They looked like they were used to going out together, everyone knew their job, and no one had to give them a command. 

According to Ethan’s observations, Liana would lead the way and make a decision, Odette would arrange the order of which place they would visit, and Roman would try to find a way to whichever area they would see with the help of a map. 

“According to last night’s agreement, we will see the animals on land, a sea animal, and volant animals. Lion, whale and dolphin attraction, and butterflies are prioritized,” Liana said, while Odette and Roman were busy with their job. Meanwhile, Ethan nodded his head. The twins were impatient and tugged Roman’s t-shirt.
