Staring At Her All Day

1162 Words
The Talking Parrots show is over, and it turned out that the show is a bit boring. Even Miles had time to pat Niall’s shoulder and then looked away, he even pretending to look at the show when Niall tried to find out who tapped him on his shoulder. But Roman suddenly picked up Miles and moved him to his side, so now Roman sat between the twins.  But Odette insisted on taking a picture with the parrot, and it seemed that she was the only one who enjoyed the show, especially when the parrot was pushing the ball to the bucket, then he complained, ‘I’m tired.’  Roman decided to join Odette in the queue for taking a picture with the parrots while Liana, Ethan, Miles, and Niall waited in front of the exit gate. Miles holding Liana’s hand, Ethan was standing next to Liana while holding Niall’s hand. It seems that the twins wanted to finish their ‘unfinished business,’ which earlier stopped because of Roman.  Odette walks towards them with a cheerful smile and shows her photo with the parrot in her hand to Liana and Ethan, while Roman walks like something had taken life from him.  The six of them walked through the exit gate, but something greeted them, but it was not something nice like a greeting usually is. Mrs. Pearson, Mr. and Mrs. Oakland didn’t even enter the show. They waited outside. “I will talk to them while asking for their voice to decide where we’re gonna eat.”  A nod from Liana was more than enough to make Roman walk toward his wife and Ethan’s parents.  With a cheerful voice, Roman smiled at them even though he was slightly out of breath. “Let’s have lunch. Miles and Niall chose a different restaurant, and we were confused. Are yo—”  Roman hesitated to continue his sentence because he didn’t get a kind and friendly response, even though Roman gave them a lovely offer. They might be mad because Roman didn’t invite them to see the show too, but the three of them can just go by themself because no one told them to wait outside.  “This is ridiculous, Roman.” Roman was surprised, with a confused smile taking over his face. He sees his wife with eyes full of emotion. “What do you mean, Ane?” Ane’s gaze turned to all corners of the zoo she could find, then returned to Roman. “All of this. All the trees, the animals, everyone in this place.”  His gaze filled with confusion, he followed Ane’s gaze, he made sure that he saw all things that Ane saw; the trees, the animals, and everyone. After that, he took a look at Ane, who was stomping his right foot.  “I’m tired, I’m tired of all of this, and we decided we’d find a restaurant outside this place for having lunch.”  Ane turned her body; even without hearing Roman’s answer or even saying goodbye to the kids standing in front of the elephant enclosure, the elephant sprayed water on himself. Roman grabbed his wife’s wrist.  "Can't you go to the snake enclosure with the kids?" asked Roman, his eyes looking withered. Ethan turned his head back to find Mrs. Pearson pulled her hand from Roman's grip, with icy and heartless eyes pointed on Roman.  "I already told you, I'm tired." “The kids will appreciate it.”  "I don't like this place, don't force me to enjoy a place like this, and after all, they can have fun without me." “I will appreciate your presence with us.”  Ethan sees their conversation, even though he has no idea what Roman and Ane are talking about. But it’s obviously not a good thing.  “Mommy.”  Apparently, Niall also witnessed the conversation too. He wanted to ask Ethan why the elephant was curled up in the mud. When he turned to Ethan, Niall found that Etham was looking the other way. Niall curiously followed Ethan's gaze, then witnessed how his mother pulled her hand from his father's hand then walked away, leaving his father and his hand floating in the air. "Mommy!" Ethan was surprised to hear a trembled voice that came from Niall; while stretching his arms. Ethan picked him up and tried to turn his attention to an elephant that made a low-frequency rumble to another elephant. They give each other that sound; it’s like they’re having a conversation about the weather and how their bodies feel refreshed.  Liana and Odette don't even need to look back to know what happened between their parents. Odette carried Miles, who saw Niall curl his lips and started wiping his eyes roughly in Ethan's arms. Liana imitated the sound of the elephants, and Miles laughed at Liana, which he thought was weird but funny. At the same time, Niall was surprised and finally laughed when Liana tickled her stomach while imitating the elephant's voice. While Roman clenched his fists floating in the air, then slowly dropped his clenched fists to his sides, Ethan saw that hug Niall who was laughing. Roman can’t force Ane to stay in a place that she doesn’t like. If Roman thinks about it, nobody will go to something they didn’t like; it’s normal. It’s the things that everyone does.  But Roman wondered why it felt so hard to see her walk away without looking at him or their child. It feels that something has crushed her chest.  These things that everyone does felt wrong for Roman.  Roman asked himself, is there something wrong, so Ane didn’t enjoy her time in the zoo? It’s the animal stink so bad? Or was the weather hot? Or he might do something that she disliked, or Roman ignored Ane, so she felt left behind. Roman didn’t understand, but he felt like something pulled him. He turned his head, and when he saw all of his children. Are they pretending not to know about this?  Why did she refuse to spend the weekend with Roman?  Roman always looks forward to the weekend, where he can spend time with someone he loves, no need to go far away or go to expensive places, even Roman will be happy to just stay at home to just staring at her all day. Because her face is full of amazing things, Roman didn’t understand why someone could look so stunning, so full of something Roman didn’t know, but it didn’t make him confused. She is perfect as a painting, and she is his world. She drew all of Roman’s attention, and she had all his heart and even his mind. She is everything, she is lovely. Roman always feels like he’s home around her; he always misses a home filled with something nice, warm, and another good thing. She’s a safe place, the safest place Roman could go whenever he needs. Right. Just stare at him all day.
