Roman can't come to Guen's cafe today, because he said he had to meet a client outside office hours, pretty much the same as Ethan did yesterday. He also said he and the others were planning to have dinner together, so after his meeting with the client was over, Roman would head straight home.
When Ethan asks about Guen, Roman says he already told Guen about it.
Ethan was worried that the annoying old man had forgotten to tell Guen, and she'd get mad again.
So, Ethan decided to visit Duke's cafe. Because he suddenly felt too lazy to drive too far to Guen's cafe, he also didn't feel like going straight home. Ethan also didn't forget to ask Roman to tell Guen that he wouldn't be visiting today either.
