Aria had pulled away from Tristan and was pointing at her. “I'm not surprised that he rejected you, Freya. I mean, the only special thing about you is that you're fat.” Those words haunted Freya's dreams and were the same that jolted her from sleep. As she came to, she sat up on the bed and brought her knees to her chest. Flashes of last night's ceremony whirled in her mind. Tristan had publicly rejected her. Tears filled her eyes and she sniffled softly. Suddenly, a sharp pain shot through her head and she winced. As she massaged her throbbing temples, the door to her room slammed open. “Where is she!” Aria thundered. Freya panicked when her green eyes met Aria's cruel hazel ones. “All you do is embarrass both yourself and others around you! Huh!” Aria stormed towards Freya and grabbed her arm. “You're hurting me.” Freya struggled against her gripping hold. “Oh so now it hurts?” Aria flared. “That's exactly how I felt last night!” “ARIA!” Alpha Jericho’s voice echoed through the walls and she let go of Freya. Freya fell backwards, the force of the push sent her tumbling to the bed, her hip colliding with the metal edge of the bed. “I forgot I'm not supposed to meddle with useless things like you.” A grin appeared on Aria's lips. Freya tried to stand up but the pain in her hips throbbed. Aria squats to her level on the ground and holds her chin. “I can't even hate you right now because you're finally getting out of my life for good.” “W - what do you mean?” Freya's eyes went round. Aria rose to her feet and stepped away from her. Another wince escaped Freya's lips as she tried to stand up. Her voice trembled and tears rolled down her cheeks. “W- what do you mean, Aria? Is father getting rid of me? Please, I'm so sorry.” “Look at how pitiful you are,” Aria scoffed. “No wonder everyone abandons you.” Freya struggled to her feet. “I'm so sorry, Aria. Help me plead with my father to take me back. I'll do anything you want me to do afterwards.” Aria smirked. “Father's not the one we're going to beg.” Freya's eyes narrowed. “Then who?” “A certain someone in the GreyWolf pack.” Aria placed an arm on Freya's, tightening her grip as she spoke. “Do you think we can beg your buyer instead?” “W - what? ” Freya's eyes went round in shock. “Oh yes,” Aria closed the space between them and smiled a thin-drawn smile. “You have been sold to the Alpha of the GreyWolf pack. Do you think an Alpha as ruthless as Uther will just let you go if you beg on your knees?” Freya's voice trembled as she began to sob. “N - no. Please, help me. I don't want to die.” Aria leaned in to whisper behind Freya's ears. “You won't. At least not yet.” “No!” Freya screamed. Aria pulled away to look at Freya. “Didn't you want to leave this house?” Freya froze, her eyes met Aria's tight-lipped smile. “What?” Aria draped her arm over her shoulder. “Haven't you ever thought of leaving this place? You've never had good memories here.” Freya felt her blood chill. Aria was right. She never had any good memories here. All that flickered through her mind were nightmares of the past and present. “Y - - yes.” She whispered and hung her head. “Yes. You see.” Aria smirked. Now, she placed her hand on Freya's shoulder. “You're leaving here and you're never coming back. You understand?” Freya nodded calmly. “Yes.” “Good.” Aria pulled away. “Now, go get your things ready.” Freya nodded obediently and watched Aria leave the room. She sank to her bed and stared absentmindedly at the c***k on the floorboard. “Sold…” the words came out as a whisper from her lips. “Sold…” She repeated those words again. Suddenly, she snapped to reality. Her hand cupped her mouth. “Oh my… Aria ! She made me admit… Oh heavens, that witch.” Muffled arguments filled the air and she stilled. “Why are you acting like you care now? The deed has already been done, father! She's getting out of here!” Aria raised her voice harshly. Freya crept towards the door and pressed her ear on it. “Well, you're right. Alpha Uther did pay a ridiculous amount of money for her.” Freya felt her blood run cold. That voice was Alpha Jericho's. “Father.” she whispered. “Yes. Once she's gone, I can enjoy Tristan all to myself. Alpha Uther can kill her for all I care.” Aria said in a cruel tone and laughed afterwards. Fear gripped Freya and she crumpled to the floor, her eyes trailing forward. Her own family had sold her. She recalled Aria's words earlier and it finally dawned on her. She had mentioned Alpha Uther. Freya palmed her forehead. “What did I ever do to these people?” She felt a loud thud on the door and she jolted away from it. Pain lanced through her waist but she swallowed the sob in her throat. “Are you done packing, dear?” Aria asked in a sweet voice. “N - -no.” Freya stifled another sob. Her entire body was trembling and the pain was becoming unbearable. Aria had spoken from the door but had not entered the room. “Okay. Take your time, dear.” With that, she shut the door. When Freya heard their footsteps disappear into the hall, she broke down into loud sobs. They betrayed her without thinking. Alpha Jericho whom she had seen as a father and Aria, a sister. A bitter laugh escaped her lips and she looked heavenward. An unsettling feeling had settled in her chest a few days ago. She had known something like this would happen but never admitted it. They had seen her as a weak omega, a useless orphan and decided to sell her to not just any merchant but the scourge of the earth, a man every wolf that had ever lived has called “abominable”, “a beast,” “the devil himself”— Alpha Uther. If you want to scare any child into obedience, tell them you'll take them to Alpha Uther and they will do anything you ask. The name was like a curse, forbidden and evil and they had sent her to the same person. Her own family. She hugged herself and sobbed the rest of the evening. The following morning, Freya was bathed in the finest rose water and her face was painted. She was adorned in the finest silk and her luggages packed in brown leather, one of the most expensive things a woman could own in the kingdom. With a pat on the back and a fake smile, Freya was sent on her way to the very hell she was trying to avoid.
