Chapter 11: At the Rogue House

Lucien Kael's POV “We’re close,” I said, my boots hitting the hospital floor hard. Ayla was beside me, sniffing the air like a bloodhound in wolf skin. She was he only warrior with that talent hence why she is among the top five best warriors. Two of my warriors flanked us...Orion and Dax, both alert. When we reached the hospital hallway, her scent hit me like a truck. But it had a mix of fear, sweat, heat and blood. “She was here,” Ayla growled. “Not too long ago.” We stopped outside the emergency treatment room as the door opened slowly. I sighted her detective cop mate Marcus laying unconscious on a bed. He was bandaged and pale, but he was alive. “Sh*t,” I whispered, stepping closer. The machines beeped quietly. A nurse tried to stop us, but I held up a fake badge. Our faces had black face masks over our nose and mouth so people couldn't easily notice our true identities. “Check the cameras,” I ordered Orion. He was already at the wall console. He hacked fast. “There,” he said. “Back corridor....Ten minutes ago.” "Let me see who the MF is." I growled. "Words Lucien....be careful." Orion said, but I ignored him and pushed to the front to watch. We watched the footage again...together. A tall man, smug, his eyes glowing yellow instead of gold to signify he was a rogue alpha. Alpha's have gold eyes where as rogue alpha's golden eyes turn to yellow because they loose the link and good energy from being away from their pack for too long. He walked through the shadows, holding Seraphina like his bride to be. My wolf growled from within. This was definitely not what I wanted to see. She was limb, not conscious...on his arms.. Why was she always falling unconscious though? If he dares touch, claim or mark her, all hell would break loose. “That’s him,” Ayla growled. “Valen...Head of the new rogue pack.” He looked at the camera clearly and intentionally showing off his annoying face. He smiled then walked away. I clenched my fists. “Let’s hunt him immediately.” Ayla went to sniff marcus and got Valen's scent. Then lead us outside. The trail was cold outside the hospital, but Ayla was good, too good. She crouched down, then nodded. “This way.” We moved fast. My wolf was pacing inside me, clawing to get out. I was thinking of him taking her and enjoying her while in her heat. It would be hard for any alpha to resist. Ayla led us to a mansion. It came into view like a monster in the dark. It had big gates, overgrown vines and cracked statues. The rogue wolves had money but they didn’t use it for beautification. Only control and bad deeds. We stormed the gates and we found Valen waiting. His arms were folded as, calm as ever...leaning against a stone column like we were old friends visiting for tea. "Damn he does look so hot up close." Ayla whispered. Orion hit her slightly. "Not a time for simping Ayla." I gave her an irritated side eye, then she shut her lips and composed herself. “Well, well,” he said. “The great Lucien Kael.” I didn’t respond to him. He tilted his head. “Looking for something?” “Where is she?” I asked. He chuckled. “You have such a beauty with you and yet you find another." He left his position, coming loser to Ayla. We stood trying to gauge him and not move carelessly. He tilted Ayla's face checking her out. Ayla looked at me desperately for a response but I didn't say a word. "You're my type...if you change your mind and want to leave your pack, I'll treat you like the queen you are." He stroked her cheeks. "Get your hands off her...she's loyal and will never do such a thing." Dax yelled, irritated. Valen looked past Ayla, at Dax. "Ohhhh! you have a thing for her don't you? I saw the way you looked while I touched her face." He smirked. I knew he was trying to irritate us. Orion held Dax's hand, calming him down. But said nothing. Valen turned to me. "She smells sweeter when she cries. Did you know that?...You know...the hot OMEGA.. literally, contextually and sexually hot..." He growled, smiling like he was loosing it but taming himself. Then he chuckled. At this point, my patience was worn out. My claws snapped out. Ayla growled beside me. “Where is she?!” He smiled at her, ignoring me now. “Why do you desperately want her. You can smell it, can’t you? The way her blood pulls at you even as a girl? Are you into girls now?” “You touched her?” I asked. He shrugged. “Held her...sniffed her to my satisfaction. Maybe more later... Depends.” I stepped forward. “You won’t live to see ‘later' if you don't hand her over. ” He smirked. “You don’t even know what she is, do you?” “She’s a human...special maybe,” Dax said, confused. Valen looked at me. “They don’t know? But from the look on your face, you know, however you didn’t tell them?” I growled. “It's none of your business.” He laughed. “Oh, Alpha Kael. Always hiding secrets. But she... she’s more than an Omega....I could feel it... She's sacred.” I could see the shock on their faces, especially from Ayla. But they composed immediately, trying to focus on the mission at hand. Dax raised his sword first charging towards him. But Valen moved like lightning. In two seconds, Dax was on the ground, bleeding bad. “DAX!” Ayla shouted. Dax was her closest friend from childhood who always stood by her side. Orion quickly jumped in as Valen's claws came out sharp. It was evident that he was stronger cause he had been consuming fresh human organs. Compared to us who didn't. I roared and charged in, now knowing I was the only one who could match him. The fight exploded as I slashed at Valen with everything I had. “AYLA!” I barked. “Find her! Now!” She bolted inside the house, fangs bared. Valen blocked my blow and hissed, “You can't have her all to yourself...how about a three sum?” My rage turned white hot. "How dare you?"
