Chapter 24 - The Missing Melody
Through some miracle Alec and I make it back to the compound in record time and unscathed. When I notice the gates and Alec turning towards the entrance with no intent of stopping and buzzing for them to open, I start panicking.
I'm pushed back in the leather seat of the Ferrari, watching with eyes wide open how we are nearing the gates at record speed. Unable to speak I decide to do the normal thing in a situation like this and close my eyes. I'm not facing death with eyes open.
Death. Am I dead? I didn't hear any crash, I don't feel any pain.
Feeling a little braver, I open one eye and discover that not only we are alive and well, but we're already on the driveway that leads to the house.
