The gang showed up in Irene’s house to play and have a sleepover. They decided to watch the stars that night in the garden of the Sage’s mansion. The air was cool and the moon was full and bright that night.
While everyone was snoring softly, the young Eva laid on the blanket just outside the tent and stared at the white tiny dots that flooded the sky.
“The sky is so pretty,” she said, breathless. The night sky always amazed her, her father always told her that when people pass away, they fly up to the sky and shine and watch over their loved ones forever. That’s why she spends her time looking at the stars before she sleeps, praying, and hoping that her mother will be able to see her.
