Chapter 3: Sweet Lovers

1012 Words
As Lillian walked out of the villa gate, she was filled with anger. Thinking about what Richard Bourne had said today, she couldn't contain her rage. She had never seen such a heartless and callous father. Forcing her to marry someone like Leonard Crowley, a man straight out of hell, was beyond belief. Lillian took out her phone to call her grandparents, but they seemed to be traveling somewhere as their phones were unreachable. Were they deliberately ignoring her? After several failed attempts to reach them, Lillian Bourne threw her phone into her bag. Today was just not her day; nothing seemed to go right. And to top it off, the nightmares that she had almost forgotten about started haunting her again. If she had known she would have such nightmares, she wouldn't have taken a nap. Hailing a cab, Lillian Bourne arrived at the Royal Hospital, a private institution known for its world-class medical care. Walking into the backyard, she spotted a familiar figure sitting in a wheelchair with closed eyes, serene and charming like the moonlight. By his side was Anna, the fifteen-year-old maid who often accompanied him. Seeing the two of them, a gentle smile unconsciously appeared on Lillian's face. "Owen, Anna, have you missed me?" Anna turned her head immediately upon hearing the voice, her face lighting up with a smile. "Miss Lillian, you're finally here! If you hadn't come, our young master would have fallen lovesick." Owen Wilson's fair face blushed slightly at Anna's words, and he coughed lightly. "Anna, don't talk nonsense." Anna chuckled. "I'm not talking nonsense, Miss Lillian; I'll go prepare dinner for the young master. When you're free, could you please take him for a walk? Thanks!" Lillian nodded. "No problem; leave it to me. Anna, go ahead and do your thing." With a playful wink at Lillian, Anna bounced away. Approaching Owen, Lillian rested her head on his shoulder. "Have you missed me?" Owen's face turned slightly red. "Yes, I have." Lillian gave a sweet smile and kissed Owen's cheek. "Let's go for a stroll in the park." With that, she started pushing the wheelchair towards the exit. Owen Wilson had been blind since childhood and was introverted and reclusive, unwilling to get close to people. The first time Lillian saw Owen was in this hospital. Her mother had been in a car accident and was lying in bed. She frequently visited the hospital, and it was during one of these visits that she saw Owen Wilson being helped out of a car by his family. In that moment, she felt her life light up. Owen, bathed in sunlight, resembled a perfect jade sculpture, emitting a gentle aura that was incredibly endearing. So she began to pay attention to Owen's whereabouts, and in situations where she actively approached him, Owen tacitly accepted her actions. Because she was persistent, Owen, who had always been taciturn, was gradually forced to speak more. Sometimes, when Lillian pushed, Owen might even say a few words of endearment, but each time, his face would blush to the roots of his ears. Walking along the sidewalk with Owen in the wheelchair, Lillian chuckled. "Owen, I noticed some progress. When I asked if you missed me today, your face didn't turn as red as before." She burst into laughter. Owen Wilson felt a bit embarrassed. "Stop laughing! What's so funny?" Lillian continued pushing Owen, laughing even more joyfully until Owen's face turned red again. She then said, "Okay, okay, I won't laugh anymore. My dear Owen isn't funny." The words "my dear Owen" made Owen feel as if a warm current had flooded into his heart, warming up his once lonely heart. A gentle smile unconsciously appeared on his face. Owen spoke up, "Lili, I have some good news to share with you." "What good news?" Lillian smiled at Owen. "My eyesight is going to be restored soon. They found suitable corneas for me, so I'll be able to see you in the future." Lillian immediately hugged Owen's face excitedly, "Owen, I love you so much! Is it true? Can you really see me? Do you know that this is the best news I've heard in days? When you can see me, I want you to take me shopping." Owen's face turned red to the roots of his ears. "Lili, we're on the street." "What's wrong with being on the street? Don't you like it when I kiss you?" "I do." Owen lowered his head, and after a while, he smiled happily. "I want to hold hands with Lili and explore Hollywood, Santa Monica, and other places. I want to row a boat with Lili in Venice, see cherry blossoms in Japan, and visit the Sky Garden." "Then are you going to take me to the lavender homeland?" "I don't want to go there. There are too many tragic stories, and I don't like it." Lillian reached out and pinched Owen's face, which was as smooth as white jade with excellent elasticity and texture. She teased, "Oh, Owen, I really want to love you to death." Enamored lovers, every gesture they made was filled with sweetness. Owen Wilson extended his long and clean hand to hold Lillian's small hand, then kissed it near his mouth. "I have surgery in two weeks. Will you come to see me?" "Of course." Suddenly, three motorcycles roared towards them; the surrounding people screamed, and Lillian instinctively screamed in horror. One of the motorcycles flew past her and the wheelchair-bound Wilson like a bullet, performing stunts in the air. Immediately after, Owen's wheelchair flipped over, and his head hit the guardrail. A chilling gaze swept over Lillian. After coming back to her senses, Lillian shivered all over because of the chilling gaze that had just swept over her. She hurried to Owen's side near the guardrail, where Owen had already passed out. "You bastard, who rides recklessly without eyes? Racing on the sidewalk?! Are you crazy? I'll definitely call the police. Do you think I'm easy to mess with?!" Lillian was filled with indignation.
