Smell of freshly cut timber are heavy in the air. As we have started to rebuild the house, just yesterday. Jacob helped with laying the order from the lumber mill. To that I am once more grateful to tha alpha. After we had got everything out of the house. Everything that was needed to be discarded. He and I used three days to collect all information needed for the lumber mill. We messured everything twice or thrice. It was a big order. A order of everything, beams, floorboards, tiles and many more things. A lot indeed was needed to make the building livable once more.
Rebuilding it will take longer than it did to tear it down. Right now it is a sorrowful excuse of a skeleton of beams and rafters. We are working slow on purpose as we are replacing many of frame work in the walls. And it is a greatly slow work. Becouse we need to do one at a time. Take out one bad and then put in a new one. Nailing it in place. The nails creak thru the wood as we take out one more. and we pull the nails. It is a hard work to wedge in the wood. To get the work getting a bit faster, Jacob had given order to the pack to not come to the farm this week. That making it possible for us to work faster. I use my muscles in my upper body to smack the wood in place with a sledge. Jacob is holding it still. Inside it is us two working. Jackson comes in with wood that his brother cut to length. The brothers do the work with great measure and care. Jackson measure four or five of framing that we have marked red ahead of us. After the wood is cut, Jackson put inside and take out the ones that were replaced. And so on we work. The time goes. Soon enough midday arrives. And we take a break. We all sits down infront of my temporary living place.
"Time for lunch!" Eric said as he put a coolbag on the table.
He smiled greatly as he took out the food. Sandwiches he put infront of us all, together with a pair of beer flasks. One sandwich each. It doesn´t sound so much. As three of us are wolfs that can eat much. And we should not forget myself. I can swollow down much to before I am full. But these sandwiches are filled to the brim. I know the guys mouths are watering, as it is doing for me. A good work will get you starving in a few hours. My sandwich I pick up. A grin are on my face as I see the overflowing stuffing. The bread are dark, defintiley made of rye and wheat. Hungry I rip open the plastic, and take a big bite. I feel as my eyes go big. It feels like that my tastebuds are dancing in my mouth. She had used real butter, strong and matured cheese. Everything competed each other. From the freshness of the crisp sallat, tomato to the stronf flavor of the cheese together with the light smoked and fatty ham. As I chomp down another bite, a delighted purr came from my throat. I was eating with my eyes shut. So when I heard the guys stop chewing, I opened my eyes. All three had stopped with their sandwiches a inch from their mouths, open was them. I swallowed the wonderful bite, "What?"
"You purred!" They all said with on mouth.
"What?!" I shrug "This is good!" and take one more bite.
Eric´s eyes turn darker. "Werecat!"
"Eric!" Jacob says chocked. Making Jackson laugh. "HE is no werecat." Eric turned his head to face his alpha. "Werecats are leaner and smaller. And YOU knows this."
Eric´s eyes get back to normal. "Sorry, Dragol."
"No problem." I say as I take my first sip of my beer. "Clarice has done these greatly." Eric streatches proudly, from hearing praises to his mate. "But I would have had to pin you down."
Eric put down his meal and locks eye with me. "Is that a challenge!"
"NO, just the truth." I say after swallowing. "And you knows it."
We laugh at the rednes that creeped up Eric´s cheek. Under silence we finish eating our lunch. Happy and full, strenghtened by it we start the work again. I think that we will be done with the first floor at the end of this day. The work goes smoothly, as we are talking and laughing. And tomorrow it is the beams that are between the first floor and the cellar. This place have a cellar. Yes it has. I knew about the underground storehouse, that are outside the house. I have planned to build a small hallway to connect that building to the house. So I don´t need to go outside. Will I not need to go in to put in the vegetables I harvest? No, the storehouse has two entrances. That chocked me. The second one had someone closed and filled up soil outside. Stupid and crazy doing. Back to the cellar, the indoor one. Even Jacob did not know about it. Even there someone had build in the door in a wall. So idiotic. Indeed Idiotic, very so much. How we found it? To tell the truth I found it. The way I did it, I didn´t like at all. I fell through the bloody floor once again. And I like the size of it. With both of the coldplaces, of the cellars, I can store up to a years worth of food. The thought make me smile.
