Jacob´s pov.  The pile of paper on the dark mahogny table, is more lika a mountain. How can it be so much paperwork to run a modern wolf pack like ours? And specially our pack. We don´t have a packhouse that all members share. No great kitchen and dinnerhall. We all live in our homes. Most in houses. A few in flats. Me and my precursors had enforced the need to take care of their families, themselves. It made a economi bloom in our town. And we could live with the humans. That they know about our kind is another thing. So what are all of these papers for then? Yea most are reports, from the borders and the sudden attack on our land. I sigh from remembering that day. It was true what I already knew. The borderguard, had almost got annihilated. The attackers had suddenly stormed over the border, taking the guards in surprise. And they had come in thru all of the borders. So one thing I did directly after the battle and the cleaning that had to be done, was to fix more guards to the border. I even planned in a new training regime. For both the border guard and the warriors. As for casulaties in the fight there were not many. Exceept from the guard then. I let out another sigh, If I told you the truth, it was all thanks for Dragol. He had hold his ground. Making a big part of the enemy force to stand back. For it he has payed the price. I don´t know what to do. The worry and responcible I feel for my friend make me stress a small bit. He baffles me. I hope that he wakes back up once again. Soon, real soon I hope. He had held his ground, in doing so he saved many lives. I need to thank him for that.  Sighing I rose from my chair. With my hands behind my back, I walked to the windown. I had choose to have my office in this room, becouse the window is facing west. The intention was that I could look in the direction of the crest homestead. Speaking of the now down burned farm, the townfolk has started to clean it up. And new buildingmaterial will arrive by the truckload in the end of the week. I made the choice to tell a half truth to all of the town. To both of the wolfs and humans. Most had already got to know that Dragol had fought, and now are battling his wounds in intensive care. I told them that the fight would have seen a another outcome, if Dragol hadn´t fought. The lie in it all was that WE had found him, blacked out from his wounds. And it was we that had killed the most of the wolfs, there. I hope he will wake up soon. It is a hopefilled wish. His wounds were so bad. It is a wonder, a miracle that he survived at all. A sigh slip my lips. I feel that I need something strong. Real strong to drink. In my office I have a drinks cabinet. Once the door is open, I look over the bottles thirsty. The bottle I chose, is a ten year old true whiskey, from the lowlands in Scotland. The strong aroma of the bevarage, hits my sensitive nose as I opened it. The dark copper colored liquid, I poured in to one glass. With the drink in hand, I stand myself once more at the window. I had just put the drink, to my lips when I felt that someone were linking to me. "Alpha!" "Yea, Mick." I answer back to the doctor. I felt the doctor´s, that manages Dragol´s care, hesitation. "I need you to come!" The link broke. What the f**k? The feeling that some thing is not, as it should be hits me. I sweap my drink. My lips twitch, when the burning sensation of the drink hit my tongue and throat. I rushed out of the office, linking my lovely mate. "I am needed at the hospital." "Just come back before dinner!" I heard her answer, that was before the elevator arrived. I rushed out of the building. I jumped in to my truck. It woke with a roar from the engine. I drove to the hospital, not as legally like I should. But I was in a hurry. In my hurry to the room Dragol are in, I make nurses and doctors to jump out of my way. I see Mick standing outside the room, across from the door. He was looking at the chart, in his hands. "Mick." I say to get his attention. He greet me with a proffesional smile on. "Has something happened? He shifted his grip on the chart. "Nothing extreme at least, alpha." "SO, why am I here?" I asked growling. He nodded to the door. I opened it. And walked in. My step are fast to the bedside. I heard that Mick followed inside. The breaths from Dragol are slow and steady. His body is not as heavy bandaged anylonger. Since the seizure, the doctor had him on a drip, with numbing drugs. "I want to talk to you about some things I have found." Mick said neutraly. I nod, for him to go on. "As you know he bleed much. Very much." I  nod. My friend, that now seems fine, almost died from bloodlust. "I had to do som bloodwork. Becouse we could not give him allpurpose blood forever. As we are starting to get low on it." The doc, looked at the chart again. Then at Dragol. "I found out something that confuse me." Now I am intrigued. What has he found? "His blood is special, real special." The Doc takes Dragols values. "What I can see, We can give this man even wolfsblood." I was chocked by his words. "What?" I shook my head in disbelief. "Thats impossible!" No blood can be traded between the races exceept it from humans. As they are a neutral faction. "Wolfsblood can´t be given to other races? Or can it?" All I know seems to have been thrown on end.  "No!" Mick said as he shook his head. "There is consequences, to give other races blood that doesn´t belong to their race." He looks at me, like I had told him something stupid. "Atleast if it is not of the humankind." Then his eyes lowered to Dragol. "And this man." Dragol are a big questionmark. I have realised that. I don´t know anything about him. "Alpha this man can be given blood from all of the races." I look from the doctor to Dragol, in chock. Back and forth I do that, a few times. "With the properties I could see in the bloodwork, his wounds should have healed after just a hour after he got them." I take a step back from the bed. "Have you dubble checked, that?" Mick nods aggressively. My mind seem to work on overdrive. He had said that his people got killed in battle. That he is the last of his clan. He must have lied about something. "But why hasn´t he then." I ask curiously and chocked. Mick looks to Dragol. And the shake his head slowly. Telling me clearly that he doesn´t know. "Is there more?" Mick started to tell me all he found out. He himself got curious. To see what more he could find out. He did all tests he could. And some experiments too. In the end he found out, not that much. But more questions popped up. More than answers. I told Mick, that no one are in need to know about what he had found out. To my pleassure he agreed with me on that. After that Mick left to do his round. As I let out a sigh, I saw Dragols body take a deep breath. My brows lowered as I look at the stranger I have for friend. His lips part. "Helen, My love." He is talking, first sign of him recovering. "I will avenge you and our younglings." His voice turned to a growling sound. "Those traitorous wolfs will pay!" I felt how the blood left my face. His clan were betrayed, by wolfs. I leave the room with the thought. "No wonder that he hasn´t opened up to us!"
