I got a rude awakening. Someone had decided to throw cold water on me. As I were swearing, I sat up. All of me was drenched. Did they literally throw a bucket worth? My anger started to rise. With anger in my eyes I looked around. What I saw was a furious wolf. Jackson had a frown on his face, a smirk on his lips. I rose up when I saw the bucket he held in his hands. Behind him is a woman, she is hiding behind him. certainly his mate. The scent that I got from her, is wolf. I used the one and half foot that was the difference between us, to the max. The she-wolf let out a scared whimper, and hide more behind Jackson. Jackson growled. “Why are u on my brother´s sofa, sleeping?” “If I was you, Jackson.” I said with low voice, with failure to deprive my anger from it. “I would check upon my brother and his family!” Jackson´s eyes turned dark, and he growled deeper. The she-wolf bolted upstairs. “What did you do to them!?” I will not take this s**t. Absolute not now. My hand flew up griping his shirt. It didn´t even take a second for me to threw him to the floor and pin him under my body. My knees holding down his arms. My left arm on his neck. I leaned down growling. My growl deeper and darker than his, making him twist in my grip. “I SAID TO YOU, I DON´T KILL INNOCENT. AND I DON´T KILL UNPROVOCT.” His eyes widened by my actions. “Don´t mind-link!” he swallowed in chock of the command. As I heard someone come down, I returned to the sofa. I saw Jackson´s brother come down. First, he had confusion in his face, then he got a big smile. He walked over to his brother, who are still on the floor. “You have a niece to welcome.” He said as he helped Jackson up. Jackson smiled in confusion. “Have Clarice given birth?” his brother nodded. “That was quick. You called me in panic just an hour ago. We tried to get in touch with the doctor, but failed.” They hugged. “So, we decided to come and help ourselves.” They looked at each other in silence. And then Jackson´s brother broke away. I saw that Jackson knew that his brother had withhold him something. “Did something happen, Eric!?” Eric didn´t answer, so I did. “It was bad.” Both of them snapped their heads at me. “It was.” I yawned. Leaning back, tilting my head. “If I didn´t gave my help. It´s certain that one of the two would die by now or by the end of the hour.” I heard a growl, and Eric trying to calm his brother. With tired eyes, I looked at them both. “Sit!” It was not a word or recommendation. It was an order. Both of them sat down, across me. Their bodies reacting to the voice of command. But their face showed their unhappiness and confusion from it. I sighed. “As you two already knows, I´m no human.” They nodded. “No Wolf either.” Another nod. “I will not show myself. But one thing you must be clear about.” They looked at each other, before nodding again. “It is I am no enemy of yours, if you don´t make me.” “If you are a nonhuman, where is your people?” Jackson asked with a frown. I looked at them both. It was a sincere question. “They are no more.” I sighed. “Long gone and buried. Just me left of our kind.” I could see in Eric´s eyes pity and sadness. “That’s why I am wandering. Trying to find a place to call home again.” It seemed as no more words was needed. They were intrigued by me. But didn´t ask anything more. Eric fetched us some to drink. And to my bliss beer. As he gave me my bottle, he asked after realising. "Why are you drenched?"  I looked at Jackson, who turned his face away. "Your brother." Eric glanced at his brother. "He has a special way to wake somenone up." Eric just shook his head.  When Jackson and his mate Sa´hara said goodnight, Jackson took me to the side. He said in a whisper. “I will not tell your secret to the pack.” I saw how he send a fast look at his brother. “We two brothers will keep your secret.” He seemed a bit nervous. “As this pack´s Beta, I have to talk to our Alfa.” Of course, he is the bloody Beta. Just my f*****g luck.
